Was sitting in the driveway programing my radio (only 500 miles on the odometer), finished up, pulled in to the garage, put it in park, set the brake and whamo...dash lit up like a Xmas tree. All sorts of error messages. Could not shut off the engine with the start/stop button. Wife managed to get it back out of the garage and then had to pull the fuel pump fuse and disconnect the battery to get everything to shut off. Called roadside for a tow to my local dealer. Waiting on an ETA. Not happy.

Not a group I wanted to join.
No one does. Hopefully the dealership can replicate it, otherwise they will give you some BS excuse. The dealership can read your codes in real time so they will have the codes that were thrown and hopefully figure something out for you. Sounds like a module issue

Update: wrecker showed up after about 45 minutes. Really nice guy. Ironically he shared with me that he owns a 89 Bronco. We reconnected the battery and it started right up, pulled on to the wrecker and it shut off. Followed the wrecker to the dealer (only 5 miles away). Bronco started up and the driver was able to back off the wrecker and park it. Would not shut off like before. Had to pull the fuel pump fuse and disconnect battery again. Left a nice note in the night drop box. Will update when I hear from the dealer tomorrow.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

I wonder if Ford used chips recycled from 90’s cash registers to get these Broncos out during the chip shortage. There is nothing happening with a Bronco the needed the electrical and computer system to be designed from scratch.

OK, I’m sorry, but if the dealer can’t replicate the issue or take some action based on the error codes, what do you expect them to do? Is there a Book of Ford BS Excuses that’s applicable to all dealers?

Trouble-shooting any type of electrical issues when everything is functioning normally is nearly impossible even with realtime data recorders. I’m hoping the issue presents itself to the Ford Tech so it can be tracked and resolved.

This is why I would rather have a key and a positive way to shut off a vehicle instead of a toggle switch. I know that "everybody's doing it", but I don't like it. At least my two other Fords have real keys.

I think I would have driven it to the dealer, since you had to pull a fuse to shut it off there anyway.

In the classic Land Rover world we have Lucas electrics to deal with (aka The Prince Of Darkness). My very basic Bronco has been good so far. Hope you get it worked out with just a little holy water and not a stake. ;)

Didn't want to drive it in that condition even just 5 miles. Roadside assistance dispatched a wrecker in a reasonable amount of time. If it hadn't been so quick I might have lost my patience and started it back up and driven.

Just let it go 5 mins and try, then again if necessary. Then let it sit 10 mins or so shut offand it will start up with all errors gone. Somehow it went into emergency mode and thought someone was stealing it. It's too late for this now. I did this to mine by pressing the start poorly. and it did not start, then again , same and then it started and all hell broke loose. If this happenes to anyone else just try me solution. I would bet that when they get it all back together it will start up as if nothing has occurred..... Breathing deeply really helps.
