Personally, I’ve used it every time I’ve taken it off-road, especially the side view tire angle. I use the 360° camera for parking every time I drive.

But hey -living in LA- that’s the exact reason we got the 360° cameras.

Even the Bronco trails app can be used as a ‘stick your hand out the window with your phone’-view in sticky situations. The camera can be streamed to the dashboard screen. So maybe that’s a hack if you put your phone on a mount on the grille… 🤓

I don’t use them often but they are extremely handy when I do use them. As others have mentioned, I’ve used them on steep inclines, wheeling without a spotter, and even parking in tight spaces a few times.

The front cam is amazing. Tire placement, turn arounds, cant see over the hood on incline, parking, 360 camera is a must.

I use it all the time, on and off road. It works great in low and making sure you’re taking the right line. It’s awesome to be able to have that perspective of the trail too. The camera washer/sprayer is nice for those mud bogs, which I didn’t even know it had for months….

It’s also great for that tight parking spot! 😆

Use them all the time. Found out that I can be in Trail control mode in 4H with them on as long as I stay under 7 mph.

I use them daily to make sure I don’t run over my dog or kid’s bike as I head up our 8% driveway. 😂

It's a useful gimmick that I have relocated front and rear and use as a safety precaution mostly...takes some learned skill out of the game.

Didn't know if I would use them when I got the Bronco but wanted them optioned in. I find myself using the camera all the time. Both on road (parking garage, tight areas around downtown, or tight turns with high curbs, etc.) and off road. Ford did a really great job with the cameras and their quality. Any vehicle in the future will have to have this option for me to consider.

I love my trail camera. Comes in handy when climbing obstacles where all you can see through the windshield is sky. Your results may vary.

For these off you with High and above, do you actually use the trail cameras when off road? The cameras are cool and all, but I have to wonder if I'd actually use them. For example, my cell phone can do all kinds of crazy things, but I only use about half of them.

I bought a mid package bronco. My order with Lux got scheduled today. So just trying to figure out whether to keep my current or trade it in on my order. My dealer is one of the good ones, so want to let them know pretty soon what i'm doing.
It's great for parallel parking! And yes, when you're going over a blind drop offroad, that cam certainly helps!

It was the one feature I absolutely wanted when my bronco was ordered. I have used them often when off road, especially on trails with a high breakover angle, ruts, or rocks. Imo they are so worth it.

I'm not gonna lie, it isn't always useful. It flattens the view in off roading, so it's use is mainly for augmenting what you can see out the window. Useful (and I do reference it), but it's just that, a reference. You still need to rely on what you can physically see. The tire tread marks it lays down can be very useful when needing to put your tire on something specific or thread some gap. Putting a winch on your bumper will also cause issues with the front camera, etc.

Around town, I use it to back into my garage, but again it's not all I use; I actually only use the black square to line myself up so I'm straight and pull back far enough to close the door. This rectangle also comes in handy if you're one of those people, like me, who likes to park in the middle of the parking spot.

You can generally turn it on around town up to 5mph (I think it's 5), then it cuts off. Off road modes and reverse it just comes on (you can hit the play button on the dash to go back to, say, the OnX app in CarPlay). It'll also turn off when you shift to park or drive, but again, you can turn it back on. The wheel cameras are only available from selections while in some GOAT modes. I think GOAT modes where it turns on, it stays on until 10mph? Ford really doesn't want you to just drive with it only.

Is it worth the money? Back when the Badlands had a real High mode, I would say yes. I'm glad I have it. If I would've had to get Lux, I might've passed. It's definitely a nice convenience if you do have it.

Anyone have an idea if it is possible to add a forward facing camera? I have searched forums and not found a good answer. Getting a mid package vs. high. But would like to add a forward facing camera aftermarket.
I added an aftermarket backup camera / RV camera and wired it in to one of the aux switches. Downside with my approach is I am viewing through a small screen that I can either fasten to the accessory rail on the dash or suction cup to the window. There are people that have used THIS kit, but it involves taking the dash apart and is only the front facing camera. My approach works for me since I only use it for off-roading and I can keep Gaia running on the screen (and only cost me like $80).

To answer the initial question, not getting the trail cameras is possibly my only regret, but was not an option anyway for the Big Bend. I didn't think I would need since I never had one for any of our Jeeps, but first time out in the Bronco it was clear to me that the hood design blocks a lot of view, especially on high inclines. Having the camera was great for going over dunes (where the backside could be an instant drop or a smooth descent), but more importantly on trails with a high incline where at the top there is an immediate right or left swing in the trail and going straight would have you going off a cliff. Without a spotter or camera, you wouldn't know until it was too late. It has also helped with wheel placement when going down rocky trails where a bad line could do damage to the underside of the Bronco. Money well spent in my opinion if you do any of this type of off-roading.

Thanks for the info. When I did the off roadeo and a few other drive events I felt the cameras were a little gimmicky and flattened things out too much. that being said I would really like A forward facing camera. I wheel alone mostly (save the hardcore trails for when I’m with at least 1 other) over the course of waiting 3 years and modifying my build numerous times I finally gave up Sas and high and within a week I was scheduled and had my ride 4 months later. Other than a cheap option that maybe links to my phone I’d really like it to go through the factory screen.
