Has anybody installed the BAMF bumpers on a Bronco with the standard plastic bumper? How does the bumper install with the standard frame mounted recovery points? I know some installs require them to be cut off or the brackets have to be replaced.

Does something need to be cut? I didn't but then again I can't remember if I replaced the skid first or the bumper and my JCR skid came with different mounts.

Finished yesterday - a bit like wrestling a greased pig at times - but it all came together in the end :)
Looks good. Did you have to remove intercooler shutters, or did this bumper/winch fit without touching them?

You will need to remove the cheezy plastic/rubber that directs air at the bottom to the shutters - however, no touching of the actual shutters or mods to those is needed - I just put that rubber part in a plastic bag to keep for down the road someday if I need it - but overall an EASY install - (winch on the other hand - was a bit of a PIA) - you can do this with 1 person if you are creative with a floor jack :)

A few things I did for my bumper. Relocated the winch solenoid. Relocated the camera to the front. Added a Yankum grroved Fairlead. Added a license plate mount to the front. relocated scensors.

Love to...

@BAMF- Any progress on the rear bumper? 💸
Look at the body Armor rear bumper. I have MAMF in front and BA on rear and they look good together. It’s also reasonably priced

Just got mine installed. One of the smartest things I did by pure accident started at initial delivery. The bumper comes wrapped up and attached to a baby wooden crate. The driver helped lift the bumper from his semi truck onto a furniture dolly that I used to push into the garage. Outside my drive having an incline this worked beautifully, as everything is flat and not wobbly.

Once inside I removed all the packaging but opted to leave some cardboard between the crate and bumper. Again this provides a flat even surface and the furniture dolly makes it easy to move around. Also you can flip the bumper around as needed to get your new fog lights roughed in, the winch fairlead installed, etc.

When it came time to install the winch, I used jack stands to max height with towels on the stand to protect the bumper. I have the flat plate version and at the “wings” are some nice flat spots to use as support points. For the tube end style you could probably use some scrap lumber to create a flat point. A buddy gave me a hand and we both grabbed an end and lifted the bumper and sat on the jack stands. It’s not quite as stable and when you set the winch in place it gets a little tip heavy in the front. We made some minor position adjustments to the jack stands and just kept a hand on it for balance only (no actual lifting or holding required).

Lifted the winch in position (with square nuts already installed in bottom) I lined it up and torqued to spec. You can adjust the winch position front to back a little. I kept mine forward as much as possible because I wanted my bumper tucked as tight as possible to the vehicle.

We then both took an end, lifted and placed back on the crate & cardboard. It’s noticeably heavier with the winch but still very manageable with a buddy. We flipped face down to make accessing the winch wiring easier, connected everything (loosely for test fit) and neatly bundled the wires and put some temporary zip ties around the wires so we didn’t have a bunch of spaghetti. Used a different color zip tie to mark the minimum distance needed to clear the bumper before I could snake into the engine bay. Undid the winch wiring and snaked to the battery where the relocation bracket installs. After finding the optimal route I temporarily zip tied the wiring in place up top being sure to leave some slack for installing the relocation bracket later. The colored zip tie landed just about perfect meaning there was enough wire and minimal of any shortening would be needed.

When time to mount the bumper, we rolled the bumper in front of the Bronco on the furniture dolly. Then got the jack stands and set them about 6-7 clicks up….enough to easily clear the crate but not too high. Then I wheeled the furniture dolly and crate out of the way. The bumper was a little far from the Bronco so we carefully scooted each jack stands closer to the vehicle. My super smooth concrete finished garage floor made this too easy. If yours has a rougher trowel finish you may need to lift instead. We got close on the left to right position alignment and then I used my floor jack and a 6x6 wood block to place under the bumper. This was difficult only because my toolboxes sit at the front of the garage where the nose of the Bronco was pointed so I couldn’t get straight on. The first lift was too off balanced so slowly backed off the jack and let it rest on the jack stands, repositioned and tried again. Still wasn’t perfect but needed minimal handling for balance while we used a metal punch as a guide pin slipping it through the bumper and into the frame holes. Got a single bolt started and then did the same on the other side. With it now secure we removed the jack stands and used the floor jack for the “bumper lift”. Got all 3 bolts in both sides. Then started measuring left to right and getting level. The floor jack did all the heavy lifting. Once things were lined up and level tightened the bolts, rechecked alignment and level and then torqued to 90#.

I honestly thought mounting would be the hardest part but it was surprisingly easy. Without a buddy it would have been harder but manageable.
