I’ beyond disappointed with the cam phaser failure and how Ford is taking care of it. My Bronco Wildtrak 23 2DR 2.7 with 700mi on, and its cam phaser failed.

I opened a case with Ford and put the car at the dealer, but wanted to share it with you

I noticed my23 did the same at the 250 mi mark, it truly is a bummer. I currently have around 6000 miles on it, and I'm keeping a close eye on any issues, non so far.

Yeah, unfortunately this isn't as rare as it should be. You would think with all the years of Ford having issues they would forgot a way to test these before they actually installed the engine.

Crazy part is they pull the entire engine just replace these

If you have access to the replacement instructions in AllData, you’ll see why they pull the engine. There’s a lot of stuff that has to be removed to access the cam phasers. It sucks! There has to be a much better design!

Yeah I watched that 2.7 tear down video..scares me.

In my jeep, I had the cam phasers off in less than 2 hours...but of course that was 8 year old tech :)

Has this been fixed in the latest 2.7's?

Still waiting on my build for next month. It’s posts like this that are making me second guess things. Doesn’t help I’m a nervous Nelly.

They've been building 2023's a while now.
Good point but I have not seen any articles in F150 or anywhere else mentioning a change in the 2.7 build.
I remember my F150 3.5 eco did that. It was called the death rattle then. When I purchased my next two F150's I bought the 5.0's Hopefully this gets addressed. It's a shame it is still happening.
