Are rain guards/window vents worth it?

Hello wonderful Bronco people - has anyone installed window vent/rain guards on their Bronco? (particularly people who live somewhere you freeze your rear off 2/3 of the year as I'm wondering if it helps with ice/snow buildup at the top of the window if there are issues opening/closing your doors being that they are frameless - this worries me) I don't have my Bronco yet but I keep dreaming and looking at accessories for when that wonderful (hopefully) day comes! I ordered the hard top and I see most complaints are from soft top owners getting soaked, though I do want to get the Skyrider giving me soft top in the front 2/3. I was going to take the wait and see approach but I want to get them installed before it's too cold for the adhesive....if I get my Bronco while it's still warm. Thanks in advance for any help!

Those are ugly as heck (IMO) - Yeah, they probably do a decent job of keeping the water out, but at what cost? It's also just double-side tape to install it, so not sure about the longevity of it either, especially considering it will constantly be getting wet.

Ford updated their soft top design recently to add a "seam" along the soft top, which should help with this issue. Someone posted a picture of it on B6G - I'll see if I can find the post.

…not buying.

I purchased the version that don’t wrap around the A pillar and took them off 20 min later after doing some testing with how they transfer water. Without the product, I probably had 1-2 spots along my window/soft top that streamed water inside. With the product installed, I still had 1 spot that was about the same and more points of dripping because the angle caused water to bead up under the visor and then drip….into the door/Bronco.

Depends on where you live honestly. It usually rains every afternoon where I live and it pours. The design of the bronco channels the water in the worst spot possible for entering and exiting the vehicle from the front doors. The guards are ugly but serve a purpose depending on where you live/how much rain you get.

We either have a year where it rains a ton in the summer or we are dry, the remaining 8 months of the year we have snow, sleet, ice, and general cold yuck Does this mean I want to move to a warm climate, yes, and no - I don't like humidity so I'm thrilled for the bit of time between the snow and hot. Snow is fun with little ones, otherwise not so much because we don't get enough anymore to do anything fun with, like snowmobiling, we get mostly ice/yuck I guess I"m more afraid of my windows getting iced over and breaking when I try to open my door.....any with experience in the cold/ice??

That double sided tape can be crazy strong though. I see cars driving around with these stick on window vents all the time that are all busted up but the tape is still holding.

It’s mid 90s everyday with a 108 feel like until November here is SW Florida so I get it. I lived in Ohio for 38 years but didn’t have my bronco then.

For sure, that automotive 3M tape is amazing. If that's what's used, then it should hold on fine. My issue is primarily with the look. All I can picture is your standard household gutters strapped alongside your Bronco...

My fear stems from experiences running out for a call to try to save someone who is injured or literally dying (first responder) and finding my car completely encased in ice and not being able to even open my doors to go. Crappy on any day but especially those days 🫤 Now realizing oh yeah, the doors are frameless, oh boy, how will this work? hopefully fine!!!!! Hopefully……

Live a bit North of you in New Brunswick - go to Maine and turn right... Last year we had plenty of ice and a couple of good snow storms. But more ice than snow. Really had no issue with ice build-up or being unable to open the doors from cold. The windows may have frozen up once or twice where I could not roll them down but the door would still open. Not half as bad as my Ram... Had many times where I could not open the tailgate or the doors in that vehicle. But so good so far with the Bronco...

I would also like to have some sort of rain guard but only because I drive with the window down most days (and the AC on in summer or heat on in the winter). Rain does come in a fair bit due to the design. I have seen the rain guards you posted but not keen on the style of them. Probably functional to some degree.

My mother told me when I was young she was going to get me a Disney hat with goofy ears that would flap in the wind because I had to have the window open like a dog

The Bronco rocked in winter this past season. Including some white knuckle highway driving between NB and NS during storms. You will definitely be able to throw some snow around. I have the stock Goodyear 35s and they seemed really good in snow. I normally run KO2's on other vehicles I have had but the Goodyears felt better in snow and ice.
