Come on Ford. Maybe an alert of some kind but the loudest horn I've ever heard on a vehicle without air horns and it has to blow twice when I'm standing right by the door and exit with they key while it's running?

The super dutys can be disabled within the software, why should I have to get forscan to disable it?

I would have already done it with forscan but they didn't have the 2023 software yet (it's been a couple months so maybe they do now), I haven't tried again.

Give us the option FORD!

Do the software updates revert back?
I was ok with it until we were out prairie dogging, opening and closing gates constantly....what a pain. A wee chirp would do fine.

Do you mean if I change it with forscan will it be reactivated when the next update comes in? I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if it did when that specific module gets updated.

Yes, a chirp from inside or anything less startling than the double blast right next to me. Just give me the option to disable it completely.

Is there a logical reason for the double honk? Maybe they'd be embarrassed by the near-unanimous choice to disable? Especially in a garage or with the hood up, it's deafening.

Its especially annoying if youre at a boat launch getting in and out while loading or unloading. Everyone turns and looks every time. Oh and btw these key fobs are water proof. Left mine in my pocket all day while jet skiing and swimming.

To indicate that the vehicle is still running when you exit the vehicle with the key.

Oh the irony: I didn't hear the double honk for a couple weeks when I got mine in February. I actually wondered what the big deal was!

Yet I managed to get out FOUR TIMES the first week while still in drive. One time barely getting it to stop before it rolled into my neighbor's garage. No warning except a pleasantly ignorable cabin ding. Ding!

I mean, it turns itself off in ten minutes.

I have a genius idea,,, Maybe they should make vehicles that only run when the key is in the ignition. You know, like an actual key that you have to turn.

I freakin' hate push to start, "keyless" key fobs. They are so pointless... You still must have this giant key fob on you to get the car to start, so it provides ZERO benefit compared to an old fashioned key.

Now we have this giant expensive electronic key fob bouncing around in our pocket or cupholder..

And now the stupid car is honking at you.. I hate it.

Give me a regular key please. Also, I NEVER use the buttons on the keyfobs, I have zero need to unlock a vehicle that is not within arms reach of me.

Push to start is garbage, electronic keyfobs are garbage.

"Now get off my lawn!" lol 🤐

I agree on the key in the ignition and blobous fob. I however like keyless (proximity) entry.

forscan fixed mine, its one of the few things that you can still change with forscan.
It's actually funny, they've taken a very good vehicle and made it something like your phone ..... that you hate all the crap on and keep threatening to switch...

The plus is not having to rebuild ignition lock cylinders or buy new keys, if you want to look at it that way. I dont mind it myself.

Zero benefit? Disagree. Putting the fob in my pocket and never having to take it out is pretty damn nice. The door recognizes me and unlocks when I touch the handle, then just press start. No fumbling in my pocket for anything.

I do wish it was less bulky.

I bet you like crank windows too.
