Never needed it / knew it existed, but it looks cool.

Could be useful on something like Black Bear Pass but I am not sure I would be comfortable using it.

I put cutting brakes in my Jeep just for this capability. Its very cool and useful feature. If I understand the Bronco description, basically any time to turn you wheel to the stops it will pull the brake on the inside rear tire. So, a 4 door Bronco gets the turning radius of a 2 door Jeep in many situations .

Is the advanced transfer case going to require the auto? Thats what I'm afraid of personally.

the badlands which has the advanced transfer case comes standard with standard transmission (and auto is an $$$$ option), so auto transmission is not required for the advanced transfer case

Thanks for the info. I was going off of the one we saw in buena vista which was a Badlands, but it had the standard transfer case, which threw me off. Just a part of the Frankenstein builds they are currently doing i guess.

I am almost certain that the trail turn feature would only be offered for the auto trans. The computer would have better ability to control drive line torque to avoid breaking the carrier in the rear axle, which wouldn't be hard to do on a grippy surface.

So here's the manual transmission paradox. Somebody who was taught on an automatic and has only driven automatics can't really understand why people who drive manuals love manuals. Somebody who loves manuals expects the vehicle to behave in a certain way. They want it to shift at a certain point and certain RPM. They want it to stay in the gear it's in for as long as they want it to be there. An automatic has a mind of it own. So every time the manual driver wants it to shift at 3200 RPM and it shifts at 2700 or 3500, it annoys. Or maybe they want to do a bit of spirited driving and get it up to the redline but the automatic thinks that's crazy talk and shifts far before it.

That doesn't sound like it should be a big deal. "You'll get used to it," you think. But I will tell you, I've gotten behind the wheel of an automatic vehicle before, thinking, it'll be fine. By the time I get to my destination, I'm furious at the car. It's like a death from a thousand cuts, each little annoyance building over the course of a trip.

And that fury and frustration has probably manifested as road rage at least once during the trip. So really, it's in the best interest of the people on the road around me that I be allowed to have my stick shift.

Please do. I thought because there was no way to assure the transmission was in neutral for remote start. I'll be happy if the electronics allow me to run it with doors locked and no one in it.

I'm sorry if you meant for the manual trans., I don't know if that would be a possiblity.

Although, I think one could go to a shop and get remote start on a manual trans. car like a best buy or a car audio place that does alarms and such.

A story to go along with that. I know someone that did put remote start on their stick car. They were parked in a parking garage facing a wall ... in first gear.

Don't know if the app will start a manual equipped car; that would be an experiment for those to try later when they get theirs

Remote Start with a MT would only need a way to know that the transmission is in neutral, park brake is engaged and will possibly need to be able to bypass the clutch safely switch.

All of this is relatively easy for FoMoCo to do. All of those signs are already being captured by the vehicle's software.

The ONLY Reason that I can think of why FoMoCo might not allow Remote Start on a MT would be some sort of Legal Concerns.

The Front Dig will be something that I'll miss when driving offroad with the MT and I don't fully understand why FoMoCo can't at least apply "some brake force" to the inner rear wheel to allow the MT Bronco "some" Front Dig.

Yeah - sounds cool, and one of the two reasons (2.7L) I would consider my first AT vehicle.

Not sure how that would work with a manual. You’d think it would cause a stall. Which is probably why it is not offered.

After thinking about the application of the brakes to the inner rear wheel (Front Dig), it wouldn't be an issue with a MT if the rear axle wasn't locked.

If the rear axle had an Electric Locker, then the computer could unlock it, making it an Standard Open Axle, apply braking to the inner wheel and allow the Front Dig no matter which transmission is in the vehicle.

So, the more I think about it, it appears to me that FoMoCo is only saying that you must get the AT for this feature is Only to get you to get the AT over the MT and to try to fulfill a self fulfilling prophecy that MT's don't sale and should be eliminated all together.

I grew up and learned how to drive auto only. I got behind the wheel of a few my friends manual cars and it's more fun than i ever thought it would be. Even though the Bronco is no sports car, I think it will be more fun with the manual.

I was disappointed in the beginning with it only being mated to the 2.3L but now I'm okay with it not being mated to the 2.7L. My Escape has the 1.5 inline 4 EcoBoost so it'll have more than what i got now, plus a manual.

Doesn’t most of the perceived auto issues go away with the ”modes”? Seeing the videos of Raptors going through the modes like Sport and the truck is a different animal from say Eco mode. Any one with a modern F-150 want to comment.

Unless they gave us a manual switch that allowed us to shift via paddle shifters or something. You'll never be able to fully put all that torque down to the tires.
