I don’t disagree that they should be penalized, sucks for them. Just a pain for the honest, average consumer.

And that’s why we have regulations. People get greedy and find loopholes. It’s everywhere.

Picked mine up at 130pm! Took longer to activate my Ford Pass and for Chip to show me everything then to sign the one paper. Great experience!
Lot is full! Said they had about 180 Broncos on site.

Keep in mind some people are able to get there sooner than others. Like me, got the call/email on a Tuesday and flew in/picked up by Friday (last week).

I’m sure i got there before people that were contacted before me and were done with the process. Heck they still might be waiting due to travel schedules/life schedules.

edit: it was 5 days from hitting the lot until i got contacted to complete financing after PDI. I think that’s the information everyone should be interested in. Is that gap the same or growing?

Picked up today, EZ peezey. In & out under an hour. I spent some time wandering around looking at all the Broncos on their lot.

Below is the exact response I got when questioning the requirement of sales tax being paid up front and whether or not it is an Iowa state-mandated requirement. I've bought/sold at least 50 vehicles (many out of state), and this is the first time I've run into such a scenario. Approaching it with an 'either pay now or pay later' mentality and hoping it doesn't end up being an administrative nightmare!


"Yes, it is required. It is not stipulated by the state of Iowa, but it is for Granger Motors. It is to prevent a vehicle from being resold without paying taxes and registration fees in an effort to reduce chargebacks and penalties on the dealership's behalf. We have been burned a lot in the past, so a handful of customers have ruined it for everyone!"

Granger didn't collect tax on mine at the end of April but the Arkansas DMV charged me tax on the full amount before rebates, which were over $6k in my case. Kind of crappy, but still a deal! Are all states like that?

Mine shipped 4/15. Arrived May 11th via the tracker. Finance emailed me on 5/15. It was basically ready then minus my price protection issues (address change). Picked up today as it best for my schedule.

You should be able to have the final sheet and be taxed on the net amount after discounts.

I’m realizing now that those of us with address changes and waiting on checks will have no hope of being taxed at the lower total. I need to look at my docs again but that’s probably the case

Interesting. Perhaps this'll actually end up being the positive of Granger requiring it up front.
They're showing taxes calculated from the cash price minus all rebates ($6,145) on my purchase agreement.

On Monday, 5/22, Granger was contacting orders that arrived on 5/11 and 5/12. I don't know how many deliveries arrived on those days or how fast they can get through them. Good luck to all - the end is near!

The rail tracker shows my Bronco got to Omaha on May 17. No "final prep" update yet on the Ford tracker. I assume the Bronco is sitting in Omaha, waiting for some truck transport? Is there any way to track a Bronco at this stage of the journey?

Unless you know somebody who knows somebody, there isn't a way to track at that point other than obsessively refresh your tracker.
