Is 4A a deal breaker?

Just realized salesman didn't put in order for 4x4 advanced is it a deal breaker?
Had a TJ in the past and never had any issues
But wondering if there will be issues utilizing the 4wd in a light snow..live in nyc.
I'm thinking I could live without it but wondering if any issues
When I contacted manager about another issue he said when bronco comes in make sure you like it and I'll do right
Don't know what that means but maybe I can get a set of mats/liners on them
Has anyone had dealership throw anything in to make things right? Would love to know what freebies could be had

I live in New England just north of you and I have never used 4-Auto. Where 4-Auto really shines is heavy rain or icey/mixed conditions, but keep in mind 4-Auto is relatively new and people have been driving trucks without it for decades. As long as you don’t lock the lockers you should be able to use it like you did in your FJ.

Also… as I’m sure you are well aware… our states’ DOTs like to give salt bae a run for his money and turn out roads into the great salt planes at the hint of any snow.

As far as the “making it right”… never been in that situation before. I always ask for an order sheet when I place my order to ensure they submit the order correctly. But yeah… I’d try to get a few accessories out of it. Maybe they can give extended warranty at-cost if that’s something your interested in.

4A is nice, but not necessary if you know how to drive a 4x4 and shift in and out depending on the condition of the road. I like having the 4A in case my wife needs to drive it - fhe can just "set it and forget it" .

Has your order been pulled for production? If not you can change it. If it has, 4A is nice to have, but far from a necessity.

I love 4A... Of course it's automatically turned on in sport mode, but I flip it on anytime traction on pavement is questionable. Completely changes the way the Bronco handles and makes it extremely stable.

Remember in 4A mode, IS 4x4 anytime you are on the gas and switches to 4x2 only under certain situations....not the other way around where 4x4 is only used if it detects slipping.

Now with all that said, no it is absolutely not required. As Ragnar said, 4x4 have been around a long time without it. Whether you choose to use a non-forgiving 4x4 on pavement or not is up to you. I can be doing 70mph down the freeway in a rainstorm with 4A on....would you do that with non 4A?

Actually got pulled a week early..salesman never got back to me when I wanted to make changes earlier..thought about cactus gray but definitely happy with carbon as I saw one last week so I'm excited at how it looks in person
That being said I'm at msrp but wondering what manager meant by making things right..I'm always a fan of customer is always right..lol
Does anyone here have anything that was thrown in when they got their Bronco besides an ADM.

This dealer is quite far from me but seemed to be the best to deal with or so I thought..that being said there are bunch of Broncos landing on lots within 20 miles of me ..and I could probably do msrp..and have within 2-3 weeks..but again have to deal with another salesman

I think its highly dependent on location and weather.

I'm In Alaska, we don't treat the roads locally just gravel/sand them. So my Bronco was in 4A or 4H for over 6 months, only 3 weeks ago did I put it in 2wd for the first time since 2022.

Advanced 4x4 is totally different transfer case, also has a lower gear ratio.

I was thinking late 1980s to be honest, but I was close.

Just occurred to me… if I consider 1980s to be “relatively new”… does that make me old? Scary thought.

I didn't give a rats ass about the 4A and only wanted the slightly better crawl ratio. If I use a mode that enables 4A by default I switch it off.

I do not live in a northern climate, so I had to think a second if I have it and I do, but aside from Sport mode while 4x4'n it, not sure I've used it.

Not needed at all imo. Drove weekly between Boston and Killington VT in the winters to do skiing and never had it. When the snow accumulates, use 4WD. Experienced snow drivers can also drive quite well in 2WD and can have fun fishing the rear end around. The only case I see where 4A would be helpful is hitting a pitch of black ice on an otherwise dry highway.

Would it be nice to have? Yeah. Is it needed? No. Live out side of chicago, Bronco handles most snowfall just fine in 2wd. If I sense road conditions are getting bad, I flip to 4H get going and flip it back to 2H.

I love 4A, but it's not going to make your Bronco less of a Bronco not having it.
