Has anyone run into this issue? Basically the window will auto index fully up when I start to close the door, rather than after the door is closed. When this happens I am closing the door with the window all the way up and it is like I am going to break the window. Drivers side - 4 door.
This does not happen all the time. Does not happen until I start to close the door. I have gotten better about changing my habit and closing the door and verifying that the window is not moving up.
I am not sure what controls the auto index to go up normally when the door closes. Maybe that is loose and moving when I start to close the door?

Try the reset procedure.

Roll window down and hold the button for 5 seconds. Roll it up and hold the button for 5 seconds.

You think that would even apply to here? The window goes up and down automatically just fine. It is also doing the auto indexing just fine. It is more of a problem with when it is auto indexing. I mean I guess it is worth a shot trying that.

It might. I just put my doors back on and one window was not behaving. I reset it and it was fine.

The reset did not resolve the issue. Does anyone know what tells the window to index back up?

Mine does the same. only the driver front. If the door is open and I start the car, the window goes up, and then drops back down. If it close it too fast it will catch on the seal

Yup. That’s exactly my problem. Didn’t think or observe if I was starting the car or not with the door open. Great observation. Keeping an eye on that.

I have noticed the same on mine as well. After many years of only driving old German cars I have developed a habit of starting the car with the door open so I can hear if anything is wrong. If you start the engine with the door open, the window will pop up and then a few moments later move back down. I've never noticed it happen with the engine already running or while keeping it off.

Have the auto lock unlock touch feature in the handle? Try closing door by touching door only. Maybe it’s an issue with the lock system. Just a guess.

Happens when closing the door, from the inside. Prob should have said that in the beginning. Never noticed it happen when closing the door from the outside from my observations. It may in fact have something to with starting the car at the same time as 91tii indicated.

It happens to me and its because I hop in and start the Bronco as I shut the door. If you pay attention you will notice if the door is open and you start the Bronco the window will go up then down, almost like a calibration. Now that I noticed that I make it a habit of either shutting the door then starting it or wait for it to do the routine.
