Anyone go through a Ford buy back?

Anyone ever go through the process of having ford buy back your car? They are calling in the next 5 days with an offer. Just curious what i should expect.

I havent done anything but talk to ford customer service. They said today that they will call with an offer in the next 3 to 5 days.

I went through a buyback many years ago and what they did is they allowed me to swap with any vehicle at the same MSRP or lower or apply that MSRP to something else and pay the difference if it were higher.

My dad had a lemon from Chevy. The buy back in ohio had to make him whole. Basically it had to undo the transaction in such a way that all costs associated with the transaction were covered. This included interest on financing and costs (legal). I would recommend getting a lawyer to represent you. Take the call, don't agree to anything, record the call if possible since they will probably be recording it as well. When they are done let them know that you relay everything to your attorney and get back to them on your offer to them.

You really should be in a position to dictate things because you are without the vehicle you purchased and are making payments etc..

If you want to be greedy might even be able to argue for more than you paid since so many dears have ADM and people are paying inflated prices for your now collector vehicle...

I am in Ohio and years ago had to go thru the lemon law with Ford. Long story short had vehicle for a year and they refunded every payment that was made plus the profit the dealer made when they sold the vehicle i traded in.

Check your State lemon laws, some include all taxes and registration that you paid to make you whole, I would expect Ford to at least match whatever the State mandates.

Are you having the rattle? Personally I'd wait to see if the latest TSB revision actually works before you accept an offer. Either way good luck, I'm nervously waiting for my manual to be built.

I had a SAAB years ago that got taken back due to the CA Lemon Law. Basically they had to pay me back a prorated amount from when I first reported the issue. So I think I had the car for 2 years and had reported the issue around 2K miles, so I got back about all but one month's payment. If I would have held onto the car until the lease was up, I would have had a free car for the 4 years

Good points. They said they will give an offer i dont have to accept at the time. If it isnt what my states lemon law covers it would probably be better to get an attorney.
