Hello again Bronco buffs! New question for you - I've been looking but haven't seen anyone wiring up red lights to their Bronco. I'm a first responder and was super excited to see the pre-wired aux switches, but am surprised I haven't seen anyone doing this yet, unless I'm just missing it? All the guys around here direct wire the lights in their truck and it seems to screw up their system so they have to get a new truck every year or two - ouch $$$. This is why I've still stuck with my trusty cigarette lighter plug-in red light ;) Thanks in advance!!

Not sure if these can be used on a bronco, maybe the rear if you don’t have LED tails.

With the aux switches it should make it a lot easier to wire in a light bar etc. If you have mod bumper I’d find some strobes that would fit the opening that people are mounting fog lights in.

I’d buy a dedicated switch system for emergency lights with all the proper relays and fuses. A few grand is way cheaper than a new truck every couple of years. I’d hope a proper set up would overcome what your coworkers are experiencing. The cheaper version is your cigarette lighter Galls special.

Not completely sure what they did but I'm thinking maybe some did have that? Some did it themselves and some had a professional do it. It was too expensive for my budget, so I just drooled from a distance with my suction cupped Amazon special :ROFLMAO: But was happy that I didn't when their displays stopped working off/on for no reason, didn't want to start sometimes, and other electrical/computer oddities that couldn't be explained.....ghosts??? lol

IF everything was properly fused, relayed and grounded, then Alternator would be my next guess. Emergency Package vehicles typically have high amp alternators to run high draw apps. I would NEVER buy a retired emergency vehicle at auction. They live a hard life.

Ditto, I wouldn't either!! They may have low miles for distance (lots of idling time) but they've been ridden hard, no matter how much TLC they receive otherwise 😬 Your comment made me think of something Jeff Foxworthy said, though I'm pretty sure it was about rental cars not emergency vehicles, that buying one was like going to a house of ill repute to look for a wife :ROFLMAO: Wait, YouTube has it!

Wouldnt worry about it cuz im a career fire guy and im not moving out of your way. lights mean jack in a personal vehicle and only cause accidents. Better off going with flow of traffic. 1 minute wont change a thing. Been doing it for 22 yrs. Rage on me all you want but you know it onlycauses accidents when a personal vehicle is driving 70 mph on a side street thinking they have the right to pass everyone. Drives me freaking nuts. Go with traffic. Safer. People dont even know what to do when an actual fire truck is behind them nevermind a ford bronco with flashing lights. Save your money and make the roads safer. Its not worth it,nor does anyone lawfully need to pull over for you. Sorry, this is a huge pet peave of mine. It has killed so many people. I did a paper on this for a class. You didnt create the emergency. You will get there.
