I don't post that much, but I definitely lurk. I just received this estimate to upgrade my POS B&O system in my WildTrak. What do you think??

Similar to the price quote I got last month, but are they doing anything with the sub? Maybe I'm missing it in the breakdown.

Wow...good call. I asked for two 12s ( I already have the downfire enclosure). I'll reach out. They told me I needed the converter due to the B&O using fiber in their config....so that's an additional cost.

Labor is high unless that includes sub work then high but reasonable depending upon market. i would cross reference pricing with Crutchfield.

What would they do to the SUB, rattle proof it? I don't see that they are adding a new sub. Just curious. Also this is using the Ford Head unit? I would definitely cross-check hardware pricing with Crutchfield.

I would ask a lot of questions about this install. Looks like they might be upcharging you for the components. For example, D-5.1300 is $1300 everywhere else. You are paying for 2 sets of 6.5" speakers, assuming that is to use one set for the center channel? But why upgrade the center channel speaker if you are doing a 5-channel system? I'd just leave the center speaker stock or get rid of it altogether.

The amp is great (see link below), but those install fees are higher than others that I have seen. That is the biggest reason I do the installs myself:

That's what I mean is install sub, and depending upon application could have a more substantial cost of labor.

DSP is required on the B&O if you start changing subs and adding amps. If you run everything at stock levels you can do a speaker swap. There’s an excellent post from a forum member that recently completed it. The sub swap looked like a lot of work. He may have gotten away with bass blockers, an amp add for a kicker sub, and possibly reset of levels on Forscan. It was a lot.
