Has anyone that has installed the Mishimoto catch can started getting Check Engine light for P051B for Crankcase Pressure Circuit? I did a little research and found in another forum someone with a Raptor started having the same issue and eventually just removed the catch can. It only comes on when the engine starts. If I reset the code I am good for about a week and then it will randomly come on again when I start the engine.

Hey @BroncoLV - sorry to hear you are having a CEL with our kit. I'd recommend checking all of the connections (hoses and can) to ensure everything is tight. Did you happen to send a ticket to our Customer Service Team?

I actually called in to your tech support this morning and talked to them. They said they had never heard of this code before but said to check all the lines and then to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes to reset the PCM and see if that works and if that doesn't to reach back out to them and they would get back in touch with their development team about the issue. I have done the battery disconnect but I haven't driven anywhere yet today. It will probably be a few days before I know if this worked or not.

I'm sure you've seen all the complaints about Mishimoto on Google so I will skip that and advise you to restore the factory hoses and connections on the CCV side and see if it helps. If not just restore the whole factory set up.

Hey @BroncoLV - Yes, this is the first I have heard of this CEL, too. Please keep me posted.

@Mishimoto The battery reset didn't work and CEL came back on last night. I have removed everything and went back to stock. I sent a e-mail with all the codes to your support this morning but haven't heard back and then reached out to the vendor that I got it from to start the process on a Manufacture Warranty Refund.

Thanks, I was hoping it would work but in the end nothing seemed to work so I ended up going back to stock. Figured it was better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it but I guess that proved to cause more issues so I went back to stock.

the CCV side operates under boost and Mishimoto either has no clue or way too cheap to address it .... don't be surprised if they ask to take your concerns offline!

you can keep dirty side connected .... stock setup on the CCV side is fine.

I'm sorry i never bothered to ask if yours was a I4 or V6?

Hey @buzpro - sorry that you feel as though we are taking conversations offline because we don't have a clue or are too cheap to address it. This is certainly not the case. We typically like to take individual conversations offline to help locate the root cause of the problem and then later update the rest of the team. To help increase transparency, I will share some details from our discussion.

So far we have determined:
- Customer has a 2023 model year 2.7L Bronco

- Customer is not at high altitude.
Background for why I ask... Some specific applications (Jeep Wrangler JL 2.0T, Ford F-150/Raptor, etc.) have sensitive crankcase pressure monitoring systems. Those applications typically have a Crankcase Pressure Sensor in-line in the CCV hose. At high altitude (over 4,000ft elevation) because of changes in air density, installing a catch can could be problematic. The ECU is expecting a target crankcase pressure parameter to read and adding a catch can increases the volume of the system and can display a value outside of the target range.

- Customer installed a BOV (unsure of manufacturer) first, then our catch can system (MMBCC-BR27-21S, both PCV + CCV sides). CEL P051B occurred three days after install of Mishimoto catch can system.

Our Engineering Bronco is a 2021 model year 2.7L EcoBoost Badlands. Our first hypothesis is that Ford made a change in the PCV/CCV hoses between 2021 and 2023. We are investigating this now. Here is a picture from our install:

I will keep everyone updated with progress.

Hey Bronco Team - Our local Ford dealership confirmed that the PCV and CCV hoses are the same between all model year 2.7L EcoBoost Broncos. We are still determining the exact root cause of why @BroncoLV is having issues, but it may be the combination of the aftermarket BOV and our catch can system (the full system, MMBCC-BR27-21S with both PCV and CCV side). Designing and engineering products around other products in the marketplace is challenging for us. It's also a challenge to test fit with every product on the market. Something seemingly as menial as larger wheel/tire setups, tuning devices, heavier bumpers/armor, etc. can all affect how products interact. If other people running this exact same setup run into issues, please keep me in the loop.

I have a 2022 and installed the Mishimoto double catch can. I can assure you the PCV and the CCV lines are different. The pcv removes super easy and the ccv you basically have to either break or get super lucky hitting the 2 catches. I am attaching the pictures after I finally got the CCV line removed.
