Every time I would check out a Bronc I would look to see if these were on it. I would take as much time I could in the shop when they were on the lift. Looked like you could move the exhaust some and make room if you had to. It does seem like an afterthought. Only on a 2.7 model. I was planning on chopping them off but replacing them with something like this......

Welded to the inside of the frame and then weld some DOM from them back to the crossmember. Then a skid could be mounted to the frame, all flat at the same level, from front crossmember (diff), to trans crossmember. You will be able to slide right off of shit like a SXS.

OBTW GREAT PICS !!!!!!! Keep that shit coming. This guy waiting for the Mar 6th. build week. I am loving this shit.:ROFLMAO::LOL:

In preparation for 40s, I trimmed the anticipated areas to keep from rubbing while retaining most off the wheel travel. Here's a few pics...

Yeah next is raising the crossmemember 2" so that it is FLAT with the bottom of the frame rails...( to mount a FLAT super skid plate full length) ... ford has this 1.5" transmission riser on top of the low crossmember for absolutely no reason....just dumbness.
The factory crossmember-transmission mount is sturdy and tripple wall in some areas.... I'll likely re-use it with some extra support....after removing the riser box altogether. End result will be flatness underneath and the tranny sitting 1/2" higher.

Wow, they were really worried about that twisting???? It did seem like a quite solid setup without those added bars, and it's not like there is a Whippled Zilla in the thing.

These wimpy crossmember angled support bars do very little for chassis as the rubber trans mount has alot of available movement.

If anything they should have added a crossover bar in the engine bay that connects to the tops of the coilover buckets...AND added a torque rod on passenger side of the engine. (Like porsche does)These engines put out alot of power for a 3 point engine/trans mount setup. I'm surprised the Raptor don't have a torque bar either.

I swapped my front grill from base to big bend and I added Westin side steps.
