So does this mean if 28% get cancelled then other folks might have the chance to get theirs built with LUX, or MIC, etc?

One would think so...I was always under the impression that the order banks were purged 11/21/2022 as initially advertised. This does give me great hope that the rest of us will get scheduled and all parties involved can put this behind.

Is this news that has been shared before? I am assuming dealerships knew this, but I have not seen this reported until today.

Not only that... but anyone who has an order (modified to get the $2500 or not) that didn't complete COVP approval will get canceled.

My super powers of foresight says shortly after March 7th we'll be seeing a flood of posts from people saying "WTF. Why did my order get canceled!?!?!?".

FORD made the system, he got his build. And still has a couple left to go all over

Can we verify with Ford customer support that names are in COVP system without contact dealership?

You can contact them to confirm you certificate numbers for price protection and private offers. If you have those, in theory, that should confirm your COVP status.

That fire drill never happened..... Since then there is been a lot of crying wolf by Ford to scare people off their orders. I dont think its working as they intended fast enough so they keep upping the game. Dealers and I will say its a majority just dont care anymore.

Funny, My first thought is towards lazy customers or customers who have "quiet quit" their order, not just the dealers.

I'd guess it is probably a mix of both incompetent dealers and oblivious customers.
Not much the dealer can do if the client is not providing the requested info in a timely manner.

Funny, My first thought is towards lazy customers or customers who have "quiet quit" their order, not just the dealers.

I'd guess it is probably a mix of both incompetent dealers and oblivious customers.
Not much the dealer can do if the client is not providing the requested info in a timely manner.

I forget how many orders Granger purged the first supposed go round from customers that didn't reply back for MY23. I think they were the exception though, how many posts did we see about dealers who said they weren't doing it or previous cancelled orders that were magically COVPd so the dealer would get stock. Hopefully Ford sticks to their guns this time with name match to at least penalize those unscrupulous dealers that did but we're 3 model years in and Ford hasn't been able to handle much of anything across the board.

The name match is meaningless - my dealer stole my car and sold it out from under me. They didnt care and thumbed their nose at Ford - even when Corp pointed out I had a signed buyers order.

Here's our experiences lately. 3 People still have orders in the system and we've not been able to get them to respond to us since last COVP. We'll let them ride for Ford to cancel so they can't come back and blame us. 2 orders that COVP'd the previous round said they were taking the vehicle, were informed after build date, ship date and within a week of arriving, bailed. One cited economic reasons, the other claimed they weren't sure they wanted it but let it get built anyway.

My assumption is the 28% is likely a mix of people that have already told the dealer they don't want it but the dealer is leaving in the order bank hoping they'll snag a freebie. The others are probably like the 3 we've got that have basically ghosted us. We've constantly been telling our sales people to stay in contact with the customer to make sure they're taking their order and if they no longer want it, tell the manager so we can cancel before it gets scheduled.

The email I saw yesterday basically said COVP is coming back, my assumption was because dealers are still playing games with known abandoned orders (higher trims, more options) which is hampering Ford's ability to focus limited commodities on reservations and legit retails. There is going to be more info released on the new COVP program but it will impact '24 allocation. The rules will be announced after the cutoff in a few weeks, my guess would be in conjunction with the order banks opening. We'll see.

Ok, if you did have a signed buyers order and gave them money, even $1, you have/had a legal contract and you can sue them. With the value of the Bronco being over MSRP, this is easily verified, you have had a loss and the other party should be required to make you whole. You have a case, find an ambulance chaser and run this to the ground. You and your lawyer will probably get paid.

After reading all this, if I was Ford CEO I would have a team overhauling the order system. This launch maybe a perfect storm of "once in a lifetime" variables combining to be a shit show(or maybe its always like this), but I would be dam sure my company would not be embarrassed again. Even if it takes years to sort, it should be done.

Sounds like the other issue is how to get the shady dealers inline - not sure how that gets resolved but at the end of the day the customers should not be the ones that lose out

This makes a ton of sense. Yeah if I were a dealer I would absolutely let *Ford* cancel the order and not me. You're doing good by the customer in case they randomly show up expecting their order and then the darker side are the dealers hoping for a bronco they can sell. There's no risk or penalty to them so of course the incentive is to just let it ride.

It was shared today to dealers.

My assumption (without any proof) is Ford looked at the order banks and their COVP statuses and realized there was thousands of orders that had not been COVP’d by the dealer. So to prevent gigantic backlash from customers by having their orders mysteriously get canceled due to incompetent dealers they just let it slide. Which, honestly, I don’t blame Ford. They did COVP in the past with Maverick, and anyone who is apart of the Maverick truck forums will know there were tons of people who were pissed off their dealers didn’t complete COVP, and therefore made their order ineligible for production.

But if we’re being honest COVP is the best way to do this. We all know it, seems Ford knows it too, they just have no way to force dealers to do their jobs. And unfortunately it probably means there will be some surprised people when their order gets canceled or they can’t get the $2500 certificate.

I'm one of them, l had my build list for a Maverick hybrid handed it to my dealer and he asked me to sign the COVP with a copy of ID September 15th. Ordering banks opened and immediately crashed. The following Tuesday they opened again. I was at the dealer. He input my information. I took delivery of a 23 Maverick hybrid on December 23rd. First one in DFW area
