I tow a 2up Sea-Doo trailer, and an enclosed 2 place snowmobile trailer. All my tow vehicles have been 5k rated and haven't had a tire on the back making it harder for hook ups.

So my question, is there a recommend receiver that's longer than a standard one that I should look at getting for towing these machines, certain drop down, flat, etc? I haven't put the tow package on yet, so I don't even know if my current receiver I will be ok, just trying to have everything all bought before I go out and go wtf I needed this, lol

While they make extended receivers, that also drastically change the leverage on the tongue.
The Bronco's max tongue weight is #350.

Hitch Extender
Do you have problems clearing your bumper or spare tire when you tow? If you are hearing your hitch accessories hit your car, then you need a hitch extender. Hitch extenders come in various lengths that will extend your receiver tube opening to where you need it. When using an adapter, your towing capacity and tongue weight will be reduced by 50%. For example, if you have 5,000 lbs towing and 500 lbs tongue weight, you will be reduced to 2,500 lbs towing and 250 lbs tongue weight. This is because the hitch extender moves the load out farther from your vehicle, applying more leverage to your hitch.

I just wish I knew, if Ford figured their tow rating based on the fact that it takes an extender or a extreme drop to make it work. The other alternative is deleting the spare, to maximize towing.

So the "standard" hitch height is 14" off the ground to the center of the hitch reciever. Many of the Broncos have their hitches higher than 14" off the ground... so if you are in that camp you'll need a drop hitch. My Badlands non-Sasquatch, for example, requires a 4" drop hitch.

If you do need a drop hitch, then you may not need an extender, which obviously solves a lot of your problems. To date I have not towed anything that has needed an extender, and I tow a lot of different stuff. But obviously your mileage may vary. Either way... start with the drop, then worry about the extension only if you need to.

Good to know. That makes this truck a Mall Hauler! Not much to put behind it at that rate. Thanks
