I bought it on Amazon, once you receive it, you go to product website to download recent updates and off you go. You plug the device into your OBDII port and follow the prompts while selecting the options you want to change. Pretty damn simple and straightforward.

The product did not require me to VIN register, so once I downloaded the updates online to device, it was ready to use. I do not know if it stored my VIN once I plugged it in to the OBDII port, it never prompted so. So I would assume not.

Yes I love it, I usually do not fish the lakes on weekends unless the wife want to go out. The lakes I go to have boat ramps and weekenders with party boats and jet skis do not have respect for the fishing. So they get too close to you and does not make for good fishing.

It truly so much nicer driving experience with not having that double horn blowing. Not to mention auto start/stop while towing. Now that I've got the tire circumference updated from 32"-37" tires has continually improved my fuel consumption even while towing my boat daily plus my transmission is shifting as it should and maintain normal rpm ranges. This item has already proved its worth in the short time I've had it.
