Thats excessive for 2 months, I'll be honest, based on the streaks on the steering wheel it looks like someone tried to use something to clean the dirt from the actual wheel and that chemical acted as a solvent and dissolved the paint on the spoke. If it wasnt you, is there anyone that may have driven/borrowed your car and attempted to clean it prior to returning it? If not that scenario do you work in an industry where your hands are dirty or contaminated? like i said the wheel looks very dirty and if you hold the wheel on the spoke a lot maybe it is transferring to them and dissolving the grey. Either way it looks environmental to me and not wear and tear so much.

Not sure who would but I have not let anyone borrow my brand new truck yet.... Im in HR, so no I dont have any chemicals on my hands. I rarely touch that part of the wheel. I've cleaned the truck a couple of times and for interior I have the armor all interior wipes so if that caused removal then it's ridiculous.

as bad as the leather looks, something is being used on it that is incompatible.

the leather isn't "bad", I just wiped it with armor all wipe and its still moist, which is when i noticed the paint stripping on the plastic part.

SOMETHING is causing that wear. The silvery part in particular shows obvious signs of chemical damage.

Too late now and I can't even say for sure from behind my keyboard that it was the cause, but as a rule NEVER let Armorall near any vehicle you care about.

Lol, the wax comment was a joke dating back to the first reports of MIC 1.0 snakeskin where some members blamed the problem on waxing the hardtop.

You can try taking it to the dealer but they will probably try and blame it on cleaners/solvents too, right or wrong. Good news is it would be a fairly easy swap, although maybe not cheap, if you decided to have it replaced.

I agree, the wrinkling looks like a milder version of when I use chemical stripper.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did cause it knowing how bad ArmorAll is. Stay away from it and use something like Aerospace 303.

I have seen lotions cause this or hand sanitizer. I agree with the rest that this looks like it was caused by a chemical. My assumption is based on the fact that not only is the steering wheel affected but the painted parts as well. Multiple surfaces experiencing this kind of failure at the same time tells me something commonly touching both surfaces caused it. Its not a defective failure.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Bronco concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.
