have you have ordered a German car during an pandemic >> https://www.caranddriver.com/news/g38179550/new-cars-tech-features-missing-chip-shortage/

as a consumer, you have the ultimate power >> you can walk away and not buy a Ford product.
I get his frustration. Been there done that with my Braptor.

I ordered a Land Rover Defender (actually now and Indian carmaker) and the Raptor the same week in March. I was promised a Sep delivery for the defender and was sold on a July delivery on the Raptor (from a dealer allocation).

The highly specced defender was built in Slovakia, railed across Europe then car carrier through the Panama Canal delivered second week of September with everything but a spare key. I had promised build dates, shipping and delivery dates and Land River hit them all. It was missing a couple parts with chips when it first rolled off the line. Did they park it in some backlot and provide no information on what was going on? Nope, they shipped it all the way down the supply chain where the the parts met the defender for installation at the port in LA. That’s how you run a supply chain.

Also with the Defender they raised the price mid model year but refunded the difference between MSRPs at time of delivery. Lucky I actually got a 22MY Raptor or I’d be out another $5k.

But I am still waiting for that second Defender key. If I lose mine the car is a brick.

The Raptor missed every single date that was communicated. Rescheduled 5 times, stuck on chip hold for weeks and arrived 5 months after the dealer projected and 4 months after my first blend date. Ford supply chain (inbound and outbound) and production planning remind me of a roomful of windup monkeys bashing symbols together

Couldn’t be happier today with my Raptor after a couple weeks, but I absolutely hated the process with Ford and I realize I’m actually one of the luckier ones. First time I’ve bought a Ford, probably the last.

Ha ha sorry, but that was cathartic

I ordered 3 fords before the pandemic and it was normal. No crazy delays. I have ordered 3 fords during the pandemic and it is exactly what you described.

Also, the act of most customers ordering a vehicle is a recent phenomenon. Most people before the pandemic would buy off the lot. When buying off the lot you are not aware of the wait involved when you order a vehicle.

One last point. Everyone bitches like a mofo but they rarely admit one fact … the bronco and warthog are very unique products. If these products were not unique or just a bad product then no one would care to order one and thus would not know anything about the wait.

That is great perspective. It really shines light on how poorly Ford has handled this.

I am still recovering from the Bronco order/purchase rodeao, but I will say I am sure my blood pressure and stress level are at a much better place knowing my Braptor is sitting in the garage. I spent an enormous amount of wasted time on it, like I should seek theropy. I will say I don't think there is a person on here who has one would say its not an absolute bad ass vehicle both inside and out. As they say around here "Hang In There"

Then Bronco6G is the right place for you.

1 >> complain like hell while waiting in line
2 >> and after taking delivery ... GUYS ... the wait is WORTH IT!

I've almost been conditioned to enjoy the wait and constant chaos. I wonder what I will do with my time after all this is over.

Waiting on my end has me more excited to wheel more in my current rig.

For the past 30 years almost every new vehicle I purchased was a Special Order. I have ordered 3 1 Ton Crew Cab Dually 4x4, 2 Grand Sport Corvette, 1 Range Rover Evoke, 1 Grand Cherokee, 1 F-150, 1 Bronco Raptor and 1 Range Rover Defender. My wife's 2022 Grand Cherokee is the only vehicle I have not ordered.

Like Said, the Defender was a new model launch. Ordered in April this year, delivered in September. Sold in October when my Raptor showed up. No push to next model year, no build date push. Dealer told me at order End of Sept beginning of Oct, got it first week of Sept.

My Raptor got bumped a few times in 2022 and a few times already in 2023, but I just got an email today saying that it is in route to the dealership. Now I have to deal with the dealership and their $15k ADM that they want me to pay on a first day reservation that was upgraded to a Raptor.

Me too -- bumped from 2/20 to 3/6 :(

That's after already getting bumped from dates in December and January.
