Oh I get it and I understand why you posted in this thread. There have just been a lot of people in your position that might weigh in on it in the Price Protection megathread. It certainly is an eye opener.I see your point… However, I thought the info I received from Ford marketing might be important for those considering going forward with the current list of issues that this thread is about. I would certainly want to be aware that PP and whatever certificates or incentives from Ford may or may not be honored after having changed my order and sticking it out. I would at least look into it and want some kind of confirmation/contract/something! Imagine changing/downgrading your order with an expectation of PP and a discount, waiting longer, etc, then realizing that all the incentives were just fluff. Hopefully it helps someone make their decision. Anyway, good luck with your Bronco as well.
I posted very similar info and concur with the response from @Heelabaloo when I joined the forum in Nov ‘21 and no one wanted to hear or believe any of it. I also posted the dealer agreements and varying states DMV laws. There is so much that many do not know or understand about how the manufacturer/ dealer relationship and then the states add to it with their governance. Easiest thing/response when things go wrong is just to blame the manufacturer. Thanks for the reply, I do appreciate the input. I’m not going to dispute what you’ve added. However, the thought that anyone would have to wade through the dealer agreements they have with Ford and understand what “residency” is and interpret how it applies in certain situations, and that most customers would do that, is highly doubtful and rather ludicrous.
This is not criticism of you b/c what you say sounds like a perfectly legal explanation and, frankly, I’m sure many wish you had been here to say the same thing 2 years ago. However, it seems to me that Ford also did not fully consider the implications of their own dealer agreements when they opened up a reservation system that allowed buyers to go anywhere without restraint and where certain dealers could decide to trade in lower price, higher volume deals on a very highly anticipated model. Although I accept that this is may all be perfectly legal, and the dealers may be the most culpable, that really doesn’t help the customer wanting to buy Ford’s product.
My situation, waiting for the mythical mod top, was impacted directly by Ford and their suppliers inability to deliver. I realize they are not fortune tellers but I would think they had better insight than me and if I had known before the ‘22 model year that the tops were very unlikely, I’d have released my order sooner. Now I waited an extra year to get the same build, or less depending on the outcome of today’s meeting, that I could’ve had last year.
Pointing fingers at Ford or the dealers doesn’t change anything but, damn, this seems like someone should've stepped up to make this clearer instead of leaving it to each individual customer figuring it out independently. Imo, the only group that could’ve ensured a consistent, clear message got through the noise is not the dealer, it’s Ford.
Any official word on when we have to change our order to be eligible for the $2,500 ?
Your price protection changes based on your trim package. You will not get the same savings down grading. You may still get MY21 savings but it will be reflected on the trim level you have. I could be wrong but that was my understanding when FORD first presented this mirage. I say mirage since many if not most of us will never get to see it.Got confirmation that the $2500 for canceling and buying another Ford will not apply for a Bronco Raptor.
Now my thinking is to see if I can downgrade my WT and use the $2500 along with my existing $2595 MY23 Transition Private Offer to get $5095 off my Badlands built this month.
Absolutely is Ford’s fault. Not only did they cheer on the dealers taking way too many orders, they then did not allow a transfer of said orders once people found there would be an issue getting them filled. To fault the buyers is just plain wrong.I posted very similar info and concur with the response from @Heelabaloo when I joined the forum in Nov ‘21 and no one wanted to hear or believe any of it. This. Granger told me if I don't change my order accordingly I will have a "slim" chance of getting a truck. I am #21 at Granger as of the last list published. Un-Fucking-Real. I already nixed Lux. That was by choice. I can consider SAS dropping. But I cannot abide the 4 door. Just cannot. I guess I will adjust what I can and gamble.I believe the Friday meeting was specific to the 232 dealers that had significant order backlog vs their allocation. They were “offered“ a proposal whereby they could exceed their allocation but only under the condition that these extra allocations do not have any of the constraint items and they will be docked or debited in future allocations. These fulfilled orders (extra allocation) would not displace customer orders from the other dealers but will take precedent over stock orders as long as they dont have any of the sins. Ford wants to clear out the backlog, reset but offer an off ramp to those dealers sitting on unsustainable backlogs. I think we‘ll hear mixed messages from dealers . Those with balanced backlog and few outstanding reservations will say adjust if you can and reap the benefits, or hang tight. Those out of balance will say change now or your done.
This is the end game for the reservation
That wasn’t my point . The dealers know the obligations of the agreements and specific state laws. I’m not blaming anyone I was just saying there are multiple things and reasons/ like allowing dealer swaps potentially that everyone may not be be privy to based on laws and agreements.Absolutely is Ford’s fault. Not only did they cheer on the dealers taking way too many orders, they then did not allow a transfer of said orders once people found there would be an issue getting them filled. To fault the buyers is just plain wrong.
Found this post on another forum, I am not sure how accurate the information is......

Please contact your dealer. Information had leaked out with a lot of wrong information. But this is what I can tell you.
Ford is continuing to build everything they can. If you want a better chance to get your Bronco in 2023 Hardtops, Sasquatch and Lux package are still is very hard to accommodate. Please consider changing your order. They are still building all trim levels.
BRONCO NEED TO KNOW INFORMATION
-Wildtrak customers are encouraged to change their build to a Badlands, Outerbanks or Big bend. If they do this they will get a $2500 private offer.
-Wildtrak customers that do not want to switch but give up Lux and or their hardtop will also get $2500.
-NON Wildtrak customers who have the following
If you remove 1 or all of these you will get (1) $2500 private offer off your Bronco. (does this guarantee your Bronco getting built? No. But taking off one or more has a better chance of it getting pulled. Every dealer has different allocation contact your dealer for more information)
- Hardtop
- Sasquatch
- Lux package
OPTION 2
If you have a current customer waiting on a Bronco and no longer want to wait. They can cancel their order and get a $2500 private offer to use on another Ford vehicle. Exclusions will apply. You can use this on any In stock retail Bronco order.
**If you order a new Ford they will get the 2500 but it is NOT stackable with the 1000 being offered for ordering a new Ford vehicle.
Options 3
**If your Bronco does not get built in the 2023 MY all price protection offers are off the table. No price protection, no incentives everyone start all over for 2024.
Please understand Ford is trying to accommodate all orders. These are things you can do to get your Bronco faster. If you are not wanting your Bronco please contact your dealer - If your Bronco is built and comes in it takes away from that dealers allocation meaning it takes away from someone else getting their Bronco.
Again I'm just trying to share the right information.
Finally, some accurate information.Listening to Tim's Livestream (He took notes from the official ford call today - these are his notes and not official Ford Verbatim. He provides a lot of good info to us, and we want to make sure he can continue to do so)
Banks are tentative to open on 3/27
You HAVE to remove ALL 3 constraints if you want the $2500*
*2 doors can keep the MIC option - as that's the only option
*Wildtrak keeps SAS due to being standard but needs to remove MIC/LUX (Still faces consequences of the SAS constraint)
- This means you can stay with Wildtrak but realize that you're at the mercy of SAS constraints.
- You will lose the $2500 offer / PP offers if you aren't built by the end of 23 model year
- It's still unknown how Ford is actually going to handle the 23-24 transition for reservation holders(Other than no $2500/PP offer). Keep that in mind.
*I believe he said you have until 3/7 to make these changes. You have time. if you'd like to wait until closer to the deadline to get scheduled, hopefully.
Ford is giving dealers with large amounts of remaining reservations (Chapman/Granger/Stephens) the option to "debit" their allocations from the 24 model year. They can utilize next year's allocation to help clear their remaining reservation holders. In theory, if a dealership was to get 80 allocations for the next year - they can instead utilize those allocations in the current year but will subtract what they use this year from next year.
With that being said - I'm at this point not willing to hold out and hope/pray my Wildtrak gets built. I went from a Wildtrak to Badlands and dropped the constraints. I'm with one of the larger reservation pool dealerships toward the back of the list. I pretty much have no choice.
If they decide to open up on 3/27, that's adding MORE competition to your chance of an allocation on top of all the current restraints. Keep that in mind.
This is provided by someone who is a solid information provider - As we know, this stuff is subject to change... so as always, read this with a grain of salt.
Does not look accurate. Watch the video from the Ford Video Guy and the following summaries. My dealer email did not say anything about
have a Wildtrak order and dropping Lux or hardtop for $2500
This looks like bad info????
????It literally says “if you remove one or all of these you will get $2500
