Yes, unless you are at Granger or Stevens. At least the manual no longer appears to be a constraint.

I'd be looking hard, nationwide, for a Base 2-door stick shift. The $2500 to buy a Bronco off the lot will pay for shipping. Base Stick shifts are really hard to find though.
If you find a ‘23, can you apply your Price Protection on top of the $2,500 at any dealer??

I dont understand how pp could be up to the dealer. Other than maybe not wanting to deal with looking up what pp you're entitled to...it has zero impact on them. From what I've read it's a rebate from Ford to the customer and doesn't necessarily lower the price when you buy the truck. I guess they can apply it at deal time ..but others have been issued a check after buying the bronco. Zero impact to the dealer. MSRP I get...they are not obligated there. My order is at MSRP and it's printed out and signed. Sounds like both pp and the rebate mentioned in thus thread are amounts Ford would send a customer after the sale??
Exactly! I’m just relaying what I was told by Ford Marketing on the phone. Maybe I got someone who just didn’t know what t she was talking about. Hope so, because it makes no sense!

I’m starting to believe this is correct…. And after reading most of this thread I have to finally chime in.

After the long wait, ups a downs, etc. I have a vin and window sticker. My two door, Lux, manual Badlands is being built now. And my dealer already has it listed on their website for sale! It does say in transit.

Anyway, called Ford marketing a few minutes ago to confirm the price protection for this vehicle and to understand how it works. I ordered 2/21 just before the initial reservation cutoff. So according to the Ford website I should get $3,425 off the MSRP, right? Guess what I was told…

The woman I talked to explained to me first that MSRP is exactly that. And that the dealer can, of course, sell the car to me for any price they like. That wasn’t shocking or surprising, although disgusting. Then she told me that the price protection was also just a suggestion from Ford to the dealer and that the amount could be up to $3,425. And that the dealer didn’t have to honor it all! I asked her if she could give me the accurate price protection amount. She said it was up to the dealer!

I am absolutely flabbergasted. It’s strange to want a vehicle from a company that I now detest. This would be my first Ford. I mean I have sort of golden ticket at this point, because my Bronco is in production. But still, after two years of this and not knowing what to expect going into the dealer, damn, I don’t know. This is no way to do business. I guess if my dealer does the right thing I’ll take it and be happy rolling around in my cool Bronco all the while telling everyone how bad Ford is. I won’t pay some ridiculous ADM and I expect the price protection as it was promised. Again, what a horrible experience.

I sent an email to my dealer (one of many) to confirm the MSRP sale along with the price protection. They agreed to it in our back and forth emails a while ago. They refused, when asked, to put anything in writing beyond what was agreed to via email. So, we shall see.

I guess you’re right, the reservation system was all pure marketing hype with no real value whatsoever. Maybe having the reservation actually made it harder to get a Bronco. IDK…. I’d love to hear from anyone who knows more about how the price protection actually works and if it has any teeth at all.

Sorry for the rant and for all those losing out trying to spend 50k+ for a Bronco. Maybe, hate to say it, and I hope I’m wrong, the reservation and price protection isn’t worth much at all. Just unreal.
I wouldn't get too worked about it based on a Ford customer service call attendant's view. Go see your dealer and have them look it up and give you a preliminary estimate of your out the door price. If they ask why tell them you need to start shopping for a loan.

Yeah, thanks for that. I appreciate your suggestion. That’s basically what I did today in an email.

Another thought is: if there is no MSRP guarantee on reservations, then how would PP matter anyway? It’s meaningless unless you know what the price will be before the PP, coupons, discounts, etc.
Some dealers, not all dealers will honor what they say in writing. They can do whatever they want. You can either buy it, or walk. Th' truth.
I found a dealer that stands by their word and sold me a Bronco for what we agreed on in 2020. I've bought several vehicles from them since, and have another Bronco on order with them. I've bought six new Ford vehicles in the last two years (sold none, I'm not a flipper) and I can't get a WT or any chance of a raptor with my 2021 reservation placed while waiting for the Bronco I now have. It's a game where Ford and the dealer control the rules, not the reservation holders.

If myself and all my fellow Granger customers get rid of the constraints, what has changed for us? Unless I missed something, we stay at the same place in the Granger line, with same allocation issue. Same situation with folks at other dealers with lower allocations. (In practice, maybe some folks don't change their order, so we move up a few spots in the dealer line, which might not matter.)

Although we are offered the $2500, we are no more likely to get a Bronco in 2023. Unless something else in the equation has change, that was not mentioned at the meeting? Such as Ford offering dealers additional 2023 allocations, to actually deliver the Broncos to people who get rid of the constraints?
I believe the Friday meeting was specific to the 232 dealers that had significant order backlog vs their allocation. They were “offered“ a proposal whereby they could exceed their allocation but only under the condition that these extra allocations do not have any of the constraint items and they will be docked or debited in future allocations. These fulfilled orders (extra allocation) would not displace customer orders from the other dealers but will take precedent over stock orders as long as they dont have any of the sins. Ford wants to clear out the backlog, reset but offer an off ramp to those dealers sitting on unsustainable backlogs. I think we‘ll hear mixed messages from dealers . Those with balanced backlog and few outstanding reservations will say adjust if you can and reap the benefits, or hang tight. Those out of balance will say change now or your done.
This is the end game for the reservation

Based on the last data we had on the unfulfilled order bank, Ford can build 17% of builds as 2-doors, and has 28% of their backorder as 2-door.

That means any 2-door only has a 60% chance of being built with current constraints.
Being #400+ at Granger, I like my chances... LOL

If the 2 door was truly a constraint, Ford would have made the offer to migrate 2 doors to 4 doors (which they may still do anyway or offer a 2 door soft top).

I don't think that 2 door is the constraint everyone thinks it is.

My wife LOVED hers when she had it in an older vehicle and complains how her new one doesn't have it. We lived in MN at the time
ACC was the feature keeping me in Lux. Virginia winters aren't that bad.

Well, this sucks. I can cope with losing some extra stuff that goes on Lux vs. High package, but a soft top is a total no-go.

It would be way more encouraging if they could magically promise a timeframe or try to guarantee 2023 with those constraints removed, because then I can do the logistics of timing a hard top, even though I don't want to pay $6k for one.

I could accept waiting for something exactly how I want it at a somewhat mysterious time, but not a thing with only some of the stuff I want at a variable price and a completely unknown timeframe. Losing price protection because they can't put a hard top on the car just makes this feel like a stupid problem to have.

Wait until everyone switches to Badlands then there is a shortage of the transfer case, lockers, and sway disconnect. Switching may be all for naught.

Well, I caved and changed my order from a 2 Door WildTrak Lux and Tow to a 2 Door OBX 2.7 advanced 4x4 with the High package, tow package, and aux switches...

$40,251 after discounts. I can live with that.

I don't think that 2 door is the constraint everyone thinks it is.
If you think about it, Ford controls the frame fabrication. Most of the other parts are the same. The big exception is the (mandatory) MIC hard top on the 2 door.

If I was Ford Management, I'd sit down with Webasto and renegotiate a deal where they buy out of some of the two door hard tops and give customers the option to switch to the Bestop soft top. Let's say that Webasto makes $1000 profit per top. Pay $10 million for 10,000 2-doors and get through the order backlog. Just enough to get them through 2023MY. Chump change for a model launch for such a popular vehicle.

The Rockstars are on it. Stay tuned. Stay Pumped.
According to Tim Bartz, half of his dealerships "missing" private offers we miss-keyed data entries into the "Smart Vincent" database by the Contests and Incentives group. Great technology, Ford!
