I agree at or highly suggested when you get the accessory mount.
Yep..had no idea. I would have totally bought it. Now I’m really going to pay for it…

I have that strut! Maybe that's why it opens to 90 degrees. Funny thing is, it was on the Bronco when I bought it. I wonder if it was included in either the high or luxury packages? I had no idea it wasn't on all Broncos?

I dunno. Mine is a Lux Badlands. Give it a little push..I bet it opens past 90.

Mine is an Outer Banks. I don't think it can open any further. The strut doesn't allow it to.

Guarantee you it will. When mine was brand, brand new it was super hard to open. A couple times past the 90 degree mark, it has loosened up.

Well then I won't force it. I don't want any accidents with the Rotopax.

Don’t blame you. It’s obviously designed to open past that just for access. It would be a real pain to only have 90 degree access. Anyway, I have a mobil dent repair guy coming out today to work on the dent/ding, and then hopefully someone for the paint.

Dent repair guy unable to get behind it to fix it. Any suggestions?

Anyone have the strut hammer is selling? I got my plate last year and guess original strut my bronco came with loosened up and rotopax smashed taillight.

The strut hammer is selling seems like its way to stiff for those two little mounts, as it closes I can see the inside mount deflecting alot 🫣

Mine smashed my fender New Years Day. I didn’t have the can on mine, and the lock got my fender. I wish it was my tail light.

Yikes! I don't recall seeing much warnings about this when I first bought mine, they got it now, but I guess thats the hand you gotta play with aftermarket stuff.

You might be able to fab up a limiter strap fairly easy to keep the tailgate from going past the 90* mark.

@DoYouBronco any word on these struts? I'd like to have one too.

Hey guys!
very sorry to hear about the damage from the tailgate opening too far too fast and damaging our beloved broncos. It’s not always possible to remember to keep your door from opening too far, so we searched high and low and tested several different options to protect the taillight/body.

The new strut is the current solution to prevent any contact as it limits the angle to just over 90degrees. Like the factory one,the strut is charged to assist the tailgate. When it’s brand new it has the most pressure and opens with more ease than the factory. The way your tailgate opens will depend on the angle your parked and the weight load of your gear. The gas can be released if you rather be in full control of how the door opens/closes. Happy to send one with no pressure upon request…

This may not be the perfect solution but we’re confident it’s the best one for the price!

We’re are close to releasing the new Molle pannel that will attach to the accessory arm OR be able to be strapped to the tire itself allowing your gear to be clear from contacting any part of the bronco.
