Whats everyone using for the kick panel speaker adapters? I got the Metra was right now and running Kicker CS series 6.5's but the driver side is pushing against the Kick panel. Is there an adapter that doesn't push the speaker out so far?

I just installed Kicker CS 6 3/4s into my kick panels with the Metra 82-5605 adapter and as far as I could tell there isnt any contact. No rattling and it all installed nice and flush.

Same - installed some fairly deep JL C2 woofers in the kick panels and it fit fine. OP - there are some tabs on the adapter that you have to snap off to make everything fit flush.

My speaker is not touching those tabs at all, its sitting completely flush on the adapter itself

Do you have a photo? I can go re-inspect mine shortly. What screws did you use to mount it to the adapter? Are they sticking up a lot. Mine have a slightly larger head to them but seem just fine.

Are you sure you have the grill clips seated into the kick panel correctly? It looks like the speaker sits fine and the grill should clip in fine. Your bolts to mount speaker to bracket don't stick up any worse than mine.

Here is mine:

And before install. My screws have hex heads so are a lil taller too.

Yeah it looks like that just from how much its pushing against the speaker/Screws - there is a circle lip on the grill that its hitting on

How is the bass in the Kicker CS 6.5" (kick panels) compared to stock? I installed my Kicker Key amp and want to replace the kick panel speakers next, but curious as to how much more bass I can expect over the stock speakers. I'm not planning on adding a sub, so need the most bass out of the kick panels as possible. Thank you.

If your not doing a sub I’d go with a 2 way component. I’ll be changing mine in the future. I had the kickers laying around.
