So I bought the Oracle fog light kit couple of days back and to be honest was disappointed by the packaging and answers received.

The lights had scruff marks all over.
Bought it via StickerFab.
When I contacted StickerFab, they said that's how Oracle packs and all their lights are this way upon arrival and that it shouldn't bother me once installed.

I mean sure, but c'mon, brand new lights coming this way is not done.
Couldn't even return it due to excessive customs and agent fee charged by UPS.
I would've been out 200 CAD and nothing to show for cuz no one would've refunded.
And yes some marks are still visible after installation because they are in front and not top or bottom where it's hidden from view.

Simply venting out here for that reason.
@ORACLE Lighting fix your kit packaging please!
Product is fine otherwise.

Sad maybe they will make it right and add another layer of QC. There products aren’t cheap to have packing issues damage them even if mostly cosmetic.

Not sure if I can do that.

Edit: charge came on card on 17th but the order has other items included which I'm ok with. Don't know if I can dispute it now or if the credit card company will oblige but if I do, that'll technically hold back the amount on everything, I think.
Another problem is I'm in Canada... Got a hefty surprise in customs fee due to importing - didn't know this would happen otherwise would've bought local - simply went with StickerFab as it was a trusted name around here.

So essentially I would be slapped with import fees again unless the seller/sender does something about it

how much did these cost including shipping to your house. A question to just assess value for the money spent.

how much did these cost including shipping to your house. A question to just assess value for the money spent.
So the light itself is 457 CAD. (Local price in Canada is also around the same 420-460 depending upon vendor)
My order was for 628 CAD as it included the boomba BOV (believe 100 something) + 1 sticker and 1 hinge cover (sticker and cover were cheap price wise) from StickerFab.

Then while receiving these was charged 177 CAD extra which included taxes and fees.

So all total 805 CAD to get the items only to find out that the biggest piece was scruffed all over.

If I return then I'm being held liable for return costs so I would be out additional 50-60 CAD on top of taxes& fees which I would never recover looks like (200 rough estimate all total with no product to show for).

Basically stuck with a scruffed product unless someone from @ORACLE Lighting does something about it

is it possible you got a light set that someone else returned to @StickerFab ? If they dont make it right, make sure you tell everyone. Businesses like that or that give you that kind of response shouldn't be in business.

Edit: and if its @ORACLE Lighting packaging, they need to fix their process. You shouldn't be getting a brand new, expensive product that looks like its been kicked around the block.

Guess not.
Cuz @StickerFab later sent an image showing that they just opened another brand new light kit which also had scruff marks (not as bad as mine) but still there.

yup I would be upset too for that price...
Hopefully a rep here will see what you were sold and help you out. I for one will not buy this light considering it has all that I need, but not the quality I would expect at the price they are charging.

I dont know the return policy of the company and that will make all the difference but I would think they should take it back if you aren't satisfied with your purchase. I'm going to read up.

My approach would be to reach out to Oracle in private, before calling them out in public. YMMV.

Maybe your approach is sensible one but I just didn't know what to do based on the responses I got.

Just annoyed by how this turned out for the dollars spent and basically being told "this is how it is - deal with it, install it and see if it doesn't bother you cuz manufacturer is like that" or I could return but no mention of who's going to bear the extra hassle and costs of returning

REFUND POLICY
When customers have any sort of issue with their product they can contact us ([email protected]). Usually these issues can be resolved through some assistance. Please do not throw away or in any other way destroy the item until we have had the chance to talk. Taking pictures of any issues you feel that you have would be appreciated and give us a greater understanding of what is going on.
If something cannot be resolved and it is only fair to issue a refund, then it shall be issued.


"We spend a good amount of time procuring media for our products. What you see is truly what you get if you install it like we suggest. Please visit our product pages for helpful tips and many times videos. Should the item be correctly represented and you still want to return it, it must be in the same condition we mailed it to you. I would argue the photos of the lights on the website do not show any packaging wear marks and thus what you received is not what is advertised on their site. I may be wrong but I'm sure you are not the first person to raise an issue with these products' packaging. If the vendor expect you to be happy with what you have, the vendor should post some kind of text in the listing or some photos of what they look like from Oracle. So there aren't any surprises when you open the box and so customers know what kind of quality to expect.
