The only issue with that is that you’d have to be tuned specific to wherever injector you’re running which FPP isn’t going to do unless they test it and put in for an EO / Carb exemption.
Well, I was suggesting this as an opportunity for for to add a flex fuel option from the factory. With an unlocked ECM this is not hard. Also, having put a vehicle through the CARB EO process personally, the cost is the same whether you are certifying a kit for 10 vehicles or 10,000 vehicles. Ford is missing an opportunity to get ecoboost performance tunes on E85 (whether or not they pursue a CARB EO).

I fully understand what you’re talking about but the unlocked PCM part to this date hasn’t been an option. I would love to run e85 through my bronco with added boost but we’re just not there yet. Hopefully it becomes avaiable to us soon.

@LethalPerformance when are you guys planning on doing your testing of the tune? Just figured I would ask. Thanks!

I'm not sure at the moment as we're still editing a bunch of content we've already filmed with our 2.7L and expect to take delivery of our Bronco Raptor next week. We've got a lot going on but we'll do our best to get to it as soon as possible.

Thanks!

It now says it can program up to 37" tires (pretty sure it said up to 35" tires before) and gives you circumference if you're modifying with ForScan.

  • Ability to change tire size up to BFG 37x12.5R17 KO2 (2,779mm circumference). [Additional modifications required.]

  • Ability to change axle ratio up to 4.70
tires growing faster than my waistline!

Quick stupid question - I think we have some interest in this but I'd note the last line : " Of course, with this calibration, Premium fuel is required!" ...

So I am wondering - is premium fuel "required" to get the full performance boost, which is pretty much the way it is normally with this engine, and you can still run regular fuel, you just won't get the "tuned up" performance boost - or is the deal, you get this modification, and you have to run hi-test fuel permanently after you do this? Just wondering because that would change the Consideration Calculus about getting this , at least to us. Thanks!

Pretty sure LP answered that question a few pages back.

Octane: As I’ve discussed briefly before the calibrations from Ford Performance are recommended to be used with premium fuel. The higher the octane used the better the results. For those who are concerned about octane ratings just in case you’re unable to get premium fuel the calibration will still work with 87 octane. With that being the case if you can only get 87 we recommend not beating on the vehicle until higher grade fuel is avaiLable. However the same logic used in the factory calibration which adapts to octane and either adds or takes timing away is still used on the Ford Performance cal. Once you put higher grade fuel in the cal will adjust to have higher timing which leads to better performance.

Let us know if you have any other questions in the meantime.

Thanks!

this!!!!!
The calibration from Ford Performance wouldn't affect additional mods such as the cold air intake or intercooler in any negative way. Both of those mods are designed to work with the factory cal and will work the same with the Ford Performance one.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!

I installed my FPP 2.7 tune today. Working on a post of results, but throttle, shifting, torque management and some power are all there. I just swapped up to 37" tires and its back acting in better in normal mode than previously in sport mode. What 37s? LOL

So curious- how does having this tune installed affect an extended warranty? I’m considering this tune, but I have a 100k mile warranty and don’t want to mess with that if the tune changes that. Any idea?
