Was with you until this point. If mine were anything approaching quiet, it was for the first hundred miles. With about 7k miles (and one rotation) now they howl on the grooved concrete highways
Tires like these need to be rotated every 3500. Failure to rotate properly leads to excessive noise, vibration, and excessive wear and tear in 4wd.

Unfortunately it’s often the way it works. I have some background with this working for 3M Automotive Aftermarket Division for over 2 decades.
That certainly follows my experience, at least with the domestic brands (BMW still puts honest Michelin and Pirelli rubber on, at least).

My favorite example is the old BF Goodrich Long Trail, which when bought off the shelf at your favorite tire shop was a perfectly competent, well-priced HT that would give you 60k mi with regular rotation. The BFG Long Trail that came on the truck you just bought, however, was a sorry excuse for a tire that wouldn't make it to 25k miles, would go flat if driven within 15 feet of a nail, and helped you find religion upon each encounter with standing water.

I'm well aware of that, doing my second one next week. They still sing me the song of their people.

It’s all a series of competing variables. No tire is perfect in wet pavement, dry pavement, mud, rock, and snow. The features of a tire in one of those things often makes it worse at one of the other things.

I’m sure it’s primarily rooted in cost. It also depends on what tire manufacturer spent a lot of time and money on the project.

I actually think Hankook could have done a better job but y’all would complain about Korean tires.

I’m pretty sure it’s due to weight more than anything, ford wanted a light tire, they got it

First it can't do rocks, now it can't do mud.

Ford really has to do something about its customer base, I have nothing against clowns, but clowns shouldn't be driving Broncos! lol

I had heard mediocre things when it was first discussed Goodyear was spending a ton of money to get picked up by OEM’s to supply tires for vehicles but I didn’t expect them to be this poor performing, granted they really do appear built for being a jack of all trades and master of none.
Good years SUCK!!!
Put some BFG KMs on that thang!!!

I don’t know if I need to go that extreme yet. This was just a simple run through one of the testing sites Ford uses to develop vehicles. Don’t plan to actually go mudding too much.

I don’t know if I’d buy any today, but I keep an eye on MAXXIS because they’re so strong in mud/rock tires for everything but automobiles. They have made some entrances into the light truck segment.

Appreciate all the replies everyone. Was cleaning all the mud out of the interior and broke a louver on the dash vent. They sure don’t make it easy to fix lol

Looks like the overly complicated procedure required to remove and replace the SYNC 4 APIM.

Would this have worked instead?

Huh who’d a thought. Yeah that would have worked much easier!

I’ve been in and out of these things so much this wasn’t really that bad but still that’s way faster for my needs.
