Just got back from doing 500 miles, "Spirited" off roading in Baja, stock goodyears did just fine, even in the mud sections.

Did you have proper mud flaps?

Ah okay. I’m new to this stuff and didn’t know any better. As soon as I put it in reverse and let off the brake the tires just started spinning and I didn’t want to make the situation worse. My friend from FP told me I did the right thing as these tires aren’t gonna do anything.
Not dumping on you, but I have to agree with the person you were responding to here that it was operator error.

It seems improbable that in a half inch with both lockers on it would get stuck, but maybe it was more like two inches or maybe spun it and make yourself nice pockets to hold the wheels that were 2 to 4 inches deep.

Inevitably between reverse and forward there is some vehicle movement even it is going back between forward reverse in the little bit (usually without spinning wheels) one can slowly work up momentum to get out of whatever hole and momentum is key to moving. The trick is being able to switch over smoothly from forward to reverse and back at the proper times and positions to rock it properly to aid rather than hinder.

Even if rocking can't get your rear tires out of a hole turning the front wheels will move them into new spots that can help.

These tires are not bad for what they are. Ford wanted a really lightweight 35 that was a A/T but marketed as an M/T. That’s what they got.
The GYs throw rocks. Otherwise they are solid. Good in snow, rain, great on road, quiet, balance very easily, good on rock, ok in mud…very similar to other A/Ts there. Obviously they are thin as a C rated tire, and they will cut.

Are they better overall than KO2s from someone who has had 3 sets of those on off road vehicles? Yes. Are there way better tires out there? Definitely…and I would never buy C rated tires.

Appreciate all the replies everyone. Was cleaning all the mud out of the interior and broke a louver on the dash vent. They sure don’t make it easy to fix lol

If you got stuck in 1/2in of mud I don't think the tires were the problem.
Ah... we continue with the world of everything is not my fault...must be the tires, the engine, the trans. Unless this was the cliche, (sp), clay in AZ don't understand the 1/2 mud stuck and now it's Goodyears fault. Guess I had to be there!!

Not all mud is created equal. We have areas that street tires could drive through 4" of mud yet other areas a 1/2" is like driving on greased glass. Most tires won't even pick it up. We also have areas that may have dust 8" deep that is almost impassable without 4wd. And maybe you were just doing it wrong.

Not directly blaming the tires, just stating how I've heard them discussed between various Ford personnel during their use with them the last two years and the majority agree the tire is a hinderance on the true capability of the vehicle. But that is for the customer to decide since the aftermarket is so huge. They wanted a tire everyone can use until it was time for new ones. In my personal, short experience between KO2's and the GY's in similarly capable vehicles (Raptor R and Bronco) the wetland marsh area was better handled by the KO2's today. I have no scientific evidence to prove the true fault, just two vehicles that drove in the same spots and one managed to pull the other through it.

The Goodyears being a very poor choice of tire made it a no-brainer to not want the sasquatch package for my specific build.

That being said, the Badlands 2.3/MT build I chose means the only changes for Sasquatch Package (at $4,090) is the mediocre tires, wider fender flares and 0.5" lift.

For that money I can get drastically better tires and a cheap lift, or spend an extra $910 and get better tires and quality aftermarket springs/shocks.

I digress as there is only one build where Sasquatch provides so little. However, the Goodyears are essentially a "worst in class" tire and most people will have to change tires in short order, hopefully they choose something else.

And which GOAT mode did you try on the Bronco before giving up?
Never took it out of Mud/Ruts for anything else. What would have been better?
