Interesting banter going on here. Not having a B6G in my driveway I dont have the luxury of hands on. What are some actual real word measurements on all of these vehicles? Are we talking a difference of 3" or 8"? Seriously asking. Lots of opinions but light on details.

I am far from experienced and was dead set on lifting and putting 37s on, but now I’m starting to think a lift and 35s will be plenty for the trails I will hit and still maintain decent drivability without really stressing the front end. I’m not sure I need 5”, but somewhere in the 3-4 range seems to make sense. It is my daily, so I want to make it capable, but still drivable. This thread has been pretty informative.

I was at 23 PSI in this clip, and I know that I didn't lose 2-3" from airing down from 38 PSI.

Sure, I lost a little, but I am pretty sure that it was maybe an inch at best.

It is, but just comparing to other 35" class vehicles it's bad at it.

Yep, agree. Experience and picking a line will be more important than ever. My XJ on 30" tires has considerably more ground clearance than my Badlands on 33's. I did just put 35's on it, but I really would have preferred staying with 33's because it's a limited trail vehicle and mostly a daily driver and off road exploring, both of which the Bronco is going to be very good at. I'm just accepting that the Bronco will never be as good off road as the Jeep, but it's a much better driver which is it's main purpose. I have a rock buggy to get my rock crawling thrills need, don't need to do it in the Bronco.

I am considering mothballing the XJ, non-op it and drop the insurance and put it on jack stands with a cover on it. See how I feel about the Bronco in a few years.

Watching 3 EBs on 35s go right over, then 15 Jeeps from another group, one that was on 33s, was very disheartening.


The transfer case skid was the worst offender, and the rockers were next. I was usually able to get a back tire up enough to clear the gas tank.

Curious. If you had to do it over again right now with the type of Off Roading you do would you still buy your Bronco or would you buy new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme Recon?

Anything with IFS isn’t going to rock crawl like a solid front axle equipped vehicle.

As someone who owns various makes/models, the bronco is basically a 4runner on steroids. It will never run the hard trails the Wrangler on 37’s can. But it’s WAY more comfortable on the road and running moderate trails.
