I'm anxious to see the 2.3 numbers. If they are decent, It would make my decision on 2.3 manual or 2.7 a lot easier.

I'm pretty happy with the 2.7 in my OB 2 door, but I'm really wanting a manual trans in the Badlands 2 door order I'm renewing.

I drove a 2.3L manual trans 4 door badlands and it was underwhelming in the power department. Of course I really didn't wring it out, which is what I assume a small displacement turbo engine like that needs. Would be awesome to have a warrantied solution for more power above just running premium fuel.

as for the piggy back modules mentioned earlier leaving no trace, I'd have to remember to take it off if it's in for repair work (particularly if it's turbo problems or engine problems, which both engines seem to have) and I might forget to do that!

I forgot about that actually, but thankfully it sounds like they're working on getting it CARB approved and also you wouldn't need a SMOG check until after the warranty is up, unless a police officer notices other illegal mods on your car and sends you in for a check early.

Smog is not based on warranty, the vehicle just needs to be 8 model years and newer to avoid smog check. Then it will need smog check, unless dealing with used cars.

I know a Badlands is going to be different, but my Base 2.3L is downright peppy and I don't need to ring it out. Of course power is relative, if you're used to more anything smaller is going to seem not enough.

Hey All!

Ford Performance just released their Performance Calibrations for the 2021+ Ford Bronco’s, including the 2.3L and 2.7L Models! These calibrations have some impressive gains and most importantly, are backed by a 3 Year / 36K Mile Warranty!

While raising the overall performance of the engine, they are also capable of :

• 433 lb.ft. TQ at 3,500 RPM (2.7L)
• 355 HP at 5,500 RPM (2.7L) (Waiting on 2.3L results from Ford Performance to update)
• Changing the tire size up to 35" .
• Changing the axle ratio up to 4.70.
• Optimizing transmission shift schedule .
• Improving throttle response throughout entire RPM range.

Each kit includes the M-12655-F ProCal 4 delivery tool and everything you would need to have it calibrated.

It is CARB Approved (E.O. #: D-431-4) for 2021MY vehicles, but 49-state approved with 2022MY vehicles.

As mentioned, the kit is eligible for a 3 year/36k mile warranty from new vehicle in-service when installed by a Ford dealer or ASE/Red Seal certified technician .

Of course, with this calibration, Premium fuel is required!

My dealer is a Ford Performance authorized one and just checked with them. He said these were added to the website earlier this morning but taken down 30 minutes later. According to the rep they were recalled. I was going to see about using Ford Pass points as a possible option since the Ford Performance coil overs are MIA. If you indeed have these in stock, folks should jump on them for sure.

I'm satisfied with my 2.3L and don't plan on doing tunes, but its nice to know the stock engine isn't pushed to the limits. I was one of the guys complaining about not having a normally aspirated engine option, but after owning my Bronco for 6 months and driving a 3.6L Jeep, I'm really liking this little 2.3L. Its peppy, smooth and refined, along with the 10 speed transmission.

Do you happen to have any dyno charts of a 2.7L Bronco before and after the tune? Also it sounds like those HP/TQ numbers are at the crank, correct? So just about +25 HP and +18 TQ at peaks?

Ford's lame charts compare base-87 to fpp-93. What really matters is base-93 vs fpp-93.

thatspecialbeat wanted a dealer to install the tune so he could get the 3 year warranty, and my point was just that your warranty will be over by the time you're due for a SMOG check so you could just uninstall/reinstall it yourself at that point.

Can’t wait to start seeing dyno tests and real world results like does it still only make single digit boost in the first few gears or 22psi+ in all gears etc
Also can anyone confirm if a manual trans 2.3 is neutered in 1st-3rd like my temporary auto? Thanks

These results are disappointing. If they changed transmission shift points, I might consider it. Reading is FUNdamental!

To give 87 vs 93 octane numbers is disingenuous. I'll wait for an actual dyno result.

355hp for 2.7? not much of an increase

The FP tune on the Ranger supposedly bumps 40 hp and 60 torque which is substantial. Custom tuning with downpipe, intercooler and E85 will be interesting when tuners start doing it on Bronco. Seen some great results on Ranger, Focus RS and Mustang EB. Bronco should be the same I imagine.

Tune is not just for max power but gains along the entire curve. That’s why only a 20 hp gain can feel like much more power.
