Did you actually hook them to the upfitter switches for primary power? or is it all done through the remote, on/off/color change?

Hooked then to the upfitter switch (my last one left ) and I use the remote for the color change. There’s memory, so whenever I turn the Upfitter switch on, the lights are the last color I used.

These are the Opt7 Photons. I liked them as they are magnetic so an easy install.

Im not a fan of rock lighting... I am a HUGE fan of Opt-7 products. I had their Flux beam LED/HID bulbs. The brightest light i have ever seen. I would be getting flashed (not the good "flash") couple times a week. Then id flash back... bright to brighter LOL. Then I installed their Aura motorcycle lights on my bike.. Very bright and id recommend op7 products to anyone.

Can you show the actual light pod? im curious to see its construction. DId you wire these into the upfitter switches?

I have to say this is one of the most useful, awesome and authentic threads I have ever read. No haters/complainers here. Just enthusiasts and people with a sense of humor.
I appreciate the different types of lighting that people like. Some folks want super bright lights for illuminating the way ahead on a level that is not outdone by anyone. Others prefer lighting that accentuates the aesthetic of the vehicle. While some night time rock crawlers may say they need wheel well lighting for wheeling, they are inevitably white. The addition of hundreds of digital colors is for another purpose.

Potluck99, I salute your awesome rock lighting. I didn't even know that magnetic mounting was an option. I thought it was either you go 3M sticky options, or you drill into the inner wheel well guards. So thank you for that, because the magnetic option makes so much sense.
I will say one thing that Neko asked about on page 2, which is how many kits were you running?

I'm a believer in 2 lights per wheel well for the best coverage, since it's hard to find a convenient place that illuminates the entire circumference of the wheel well uniformly. You managed to do such a good job with one light per wheel that Neko had to ask because he wasn't sure.
To newbie amateurs like me, I might recommend 8 lights total. There are videos on how to drop the wheel well covers.
Lastly, I'm going all in with Oracle Bronco illuminated grill lights.

Just got my opt7 kit. Going to try the install tonight. Where did you mount the control box, and how did it tie to your switch? Sorry for this if it is a dumb question. Just trying to save myself some time and headache

no need to go thru the firewall.
Ford prewired leads to areas in the bronco (above windshield, rear cargo, front grill, glovebox..)
Then the leads to the six upfitter switches are all together at the firewall near the fuse panel. Each upfitter switch has a different colored wire and amp rating. I would use aux switch 6 (yellow w/orange stripe) as it’s a 10a. You can zip tie the op7 control box to the harness in that area as well.

see above- also the 6 leads from the upfitter switches already have fuses/relays. So you just need to hook up the positive wire from the op7 to whichever lead you use, and ground the other wire and you’re good.

Asked a few questions last week, made the purchase and installed today. Really easy install and used uplifter switch 6. Went with the aura opt7 with Bluetooth and mounted above the tires drilling into wheel liners. Routing the wires, mounting, and electrical was a breeze. Did not have to remove any of the wheel liners. Pics to follow when it’s dark. Appreciate the write up and idea generated by @Potluck99

@Potluck99, awesome job. Liked it enough to already buy one.
Question I have is how did you run the wires from the rear to the harness/fuse box area (fronts are pretty self explanatory)? My understanding is you ran them all to the engine bay under body and then tied in there, right? Any pics would be awesome (understanding I’m a 4-door vs 2-door).

I followed the harness that is attached to the frame rails. I zip tied the opt7 wires to that.
