So I originally had a Big Bend on order that I let my dad purchase back in May. I took over his order for a Black Diamond which is currently in the process of being built with a 9/27 blend. Jokes on me because my additional interest is going to be fun on the more expensive of the two builds.

I had zero idea that you could opt in the advanced 4x4 on the black diamond and not get stuck with SAS automatically. So don't let my lack of awareness get the better of you and select the advanced 4x4 on your 2023 builds on the black diamond trim and up.

The amount of times that 4 high won't suffice in lieu of 4A in Georgia is pretty limited so not the end of the world. Just promise me you won't make the same mistakes as me. Also promise me you will never go bungee jumping in Mexico because they don't have regulations.

Laughing at the last sentence, not your overzealous order and missing some details (a lot of us are prone to being hasty even if we don't admit to it.).
Definitely skip the bungee and the roadside food stands.
I'd skip the dimly-lit tattoo joints as well.

I feel your pain over the Advanced 4x4, I almost ended up with an order without it and would have been really irritated had I not caught the mistake on my DORA.

I wish I could get Sasquatch without advanced 4wd, beings I keep vehicles long term, it's just another system that's likely to fail at some point (probably when needed the most).

Yeah the main issue that caused it to be overlooked was it starting life as an SAS outer banks last July and when I was making changes I was having to go through my dad who then went to the sales guy.

I will live without it through.

You do realize Ford has been using the same basic auto 4x4 system since its introduction in 1995 in the Explorer? 97+ Expedition. Both showed to be pretty dang reliable. Obviously with improvements over that time. But I have a 97 Expedition in my driveway with 170k and auto 4x4 works perfectly in it.

I have your exact same car (including no adv4wd). I actually get a fair amount of snow, and would have been nice, but not worth worrying about. Enjoy the car when it arrives!
