I would consider this but that's where I'm installing my machine gun for tailgaters.

Does it run hot due to almost being entirely enclosed? Any volume restrictions for intake due to the enclosed mount? Run slower, faster, the same? Any cold weather or rain impact on operation? Also noticed the wheel lock in your photo. Good tamperproof consideration.

Jerry can mount? Can you post a link to that topic?
Under exterior modifications—> Jerry Can Mount Build. RTR also sells one for $350. Definitely ā€œprettier.ā€ The guy who fabricated his own mount used the hammerbuilt reinforcement as a backing plate.

it only draws air when it’s on
The air filter on your car only draws air when it’s running. Not parked in a garage
True but that doesn’t change the fact that you get the most dust buildup on the back of your vehicle. So if it is covered in dust when you turn it on. It fills those tinny filters. I’m guessing it’s not going to be easy to change the filters. I have removed the rear tire carrier when installing full body PPF. Although not a hard job it does take some time and in my case lifting a heavy ass 37ā€ tire on the Raptor isn’t fun, lol!

Then run this with a spare-tire delete - problem solved and you get the added benefit of your Bronco looking like it has a tiny jet pack on the back. Win-win!

Edit: Since this appears to ever-so-slightly push the rear tire mount out (due to that metal plate), is there any issues with the cargo door squeaking, since the tire would be slightly further from the rubber stops on the door? I know it’s minimal, but I imagine it wouldn’t take much to be an issue.

If it clogs the filters once a year I’d be surprised, that’s based on my personal life experience changing air filters and related on trucks to cranes in plants in south Louisiana and they would be COVERED in dust, coke, etc…

Those filters are much larger than the 2ā€ pancake filters on these pumps. I’m not saying your not right but the fact still remains it’s not apples to apples. And they will not be easy to change.

yes you are correct. They aren’t easy to change.

At almost no point will that compressor be running when it’s so dusty you can’t see
And the dust may find it’s way to the filters that are never drawing air through them

but if it’s that dusty, wouldn’t it contaminate the cabin a/c? The engine air filter?
At most you will run it 30 minutes however often you air down then up

I know I’ve run arb power tanks, arb compressors, home compressors, shop compressors and everything in between.

but if the conditions you need it to work in won’t, then the other 99% of people it will be fine
Designing anything for that far of an outlier isn’t profitable for anyone

a question I do have.

how often do you change them in the compressor you use now to inflate your tires?

Hello Bronco family,

Here are some photos of a new product we have been working on here at AGS Off-road. Introducing the Bronco Air-gate! We are looking to get some opinions from our customers. Would anyone be interested in a product like the one pictured below or would you rather have the mount built into a modular tailgate support? The version pictured below could be available for purchase much sooner than the modular tailgate support version. Both versions are still being tested and need your help to figure out which one to focus on more. Product pictured below is a proto-type and is not built to the same quality final production parts will be.

Thank you,
AGS Off-road

That’s the answer I’m looking for. I wanted others input on thoughts about how it would work or not with the filters. Very well said in your last post. I’m more on board now. Thank you!
