As many of y'all probably found out. The wireless charger is absolute trash. It heats up my phone like a nuke. Doesn't charge at all. Tried with multiple phones and nothing . How do I turn off the wireless charger permanently so I can just place my phone there without my phone reaching the temperature of the sun @Ford Motor Company what cheap Chinese wireless charger did y'all install in the "Lux" package . More like the "knockoff" package

LMAO. So true. Funny thing is you can buy a cheap Chinese wireless charger on Amazon, and it functions just fine and doesn’t send your phone into nuclear meltdown.

To turn it off you would have to pull the center console and unplug it. It might generate a code or error though.

yeah, it's frustrating to put your phone down there...where it fits perfectly mind you...and every bump is a gamble whether it'll be on the charger or not...and talk about hot! whew!

Pull fuse 3 from your BCM fuse box under your steering wheel. That fuse powers the WACM (wireless accessory charging module).

Also powers your side mirror adjustment, so keep the fuse handy. ;)

Or rip apart your center console and unplug the charging coil/module.

Maybe just get a thick enough piece of rubber to put over the area so it won't charge. I've thought about doing the same. Most of the time I put my wallet in that space and then my phone on top of that so that you don't have to worry about the charger heating up your phone.

Am I the only one with a correctly functioning wireless charger? I've never had an issue with mine staying connected, charging, or extreme device temperatures. It gets a little warm, but nothing alarming or what is often described in these threads.

All wireless chargers make the phones somewhat warm for sure. I do think the one in the cubby on the lux package definitely makes my phone hotter than the others I've used. It works in a pinch, but not ideal for me personally. I also found that it doesn't really charge as fast as a magsafe charger, especially when using Waze or similar. I've got a better mount solution already so not a huge deal for me. If I ever tear the dash apart I may take a look to see if there's a better option down there for passengers who want to charge their phones or something.

My wife bought me some nice thick inserts to dress up that cubby along with the cup holders. The one for the cubby effectively keeps the wireless charging from happening (combined with my phone case).

I really like the charger in my Badlands.......very simple to lay it in the cubby and it works every time.
I'm not on my phone as much as most I expect.

I wonder if you take it apart and put in a magsafe apple charger? I saw a thread where someone installed one but it didn't have a wireless charger so he made one.

There's a menu item in features to turn it off. Mine was turned off from the factory and I've never turned it on.
Show us please I can't find

If you have forscan I have seen it in there to enable. I don’t have the Lux to test it but assume you could just disable it as well.
