Did you remove the rock rails and add a different tube step?

Yeah those are the TAC steps from Amazon.
I actually just switched back to the rock rails yesterday. I don't have a passenger that much to use the passenger side, and it's kinda useless for me on the driver side. You can't really step up on it and then in to the vehicle.. It's just awkward positioning and sliding in and you end up looking like an idiot sitting sideways then turning in I'll get more use out of the rock rails offroading.

What about the 4.46 vs 4.7 gearing though? I’m tempted to downgrade to a Base SAS to save money but going all in means I also get the 360 cameras and a huge screen for apple CarPlay.

If you go manual you get the 4.7 gearing, but yeah on an Auto SAS adds that 4.7 gearing, another reason I'd still get it if I trade in on another badlands.

Non-Sas is more than enough for me! It also wasn’t worth $6500 to upgrade for 35’s from factory, IMO

It's $4,090 (as of mid july 2022) for SAS on a badlands w/Manual?
And if you go with the auto then it's only $2,495 more.

Nobody has mentioned getting the SAS package eliminates crash bars. That's a deal breaker for me. Can only imagine what Ford charges to buy them in the parts department.

FYI there are now a couple aftermarket options to replace those with sufficient clearance for 35s, 4wheelparts and Icon come to mind

I'm between a Black Diamond SAS and Badlands Non-SAS, price is basically the same and I lose front locker

Same axle and locker in BD with Sasquatch and Badlands with or without Sasquatch.

I thought the point of the more lift, less travel of Sas vs BLs is to avoid rubbing issues (at full compression) when going with 35s like you are doing. Seems like more wheel travel while being the right fit for 33's, would be the wrong fit for wheeling 35's. If I'm incorrect, could anyone explain the reason why the engineers at Ford limited the wheel travel on a $4000 upgrade package? Seems counter-intuitive.

The factory 35's are wider than what I plan to run. The 11.5" wide should fit perfect with no lift, and keep full suspension travel. Especially with the beadlock capable wheels.

I changed to a non-squatch BL (2dr) after going to the Off-Roadeo (Austin). Non-squatched BLs did everything the Sasquatched ones were doing and that was about as taxing an off-road course as I expect to be doing. I just didn't see the need for the 35s with minimal clearance difference when the 33" KO2s seem to be a superior tire. Had mine since early this Feb. and no regrets - been great on and off road.

As for the crowd wanting to go with big lifts and 40s, 80s, etc., for extreme rock crawling...let's be honest, aren't there better host vehicles for those mods? Like a solid axle Jeep?

My biggest ordering struggle (like many others have) is SAS or Non-SAS, especially since I’ll already be getting the 33’s with my Badlands order. For those Badlands owners with Non-SAS have you found you’re satisfied with the Non-SAS? I’ve seen the Badlands SAS in person, but still haven’t seen a Badlands Non-SAS in person to gauge actual wheel/tire size.

I’d love to hear your thoughts with pics of your Non-SAS Badlands. Thanks in advance!

i was in the same boat, however, i just really dont like the look of the sas fender flares, theyre too wide!!! So i got the NON sas Badlands and plan to add small lift and 35 inch tires, BUT when i picked up the Badlands my first thought was it looks great, looks like a beast, its got a nice stance, tires seem big, its got great clearance etc!! So when i ordered and got the NON SAS with manual, i was sure to get the important stuff, gearing lockers etc which makes it almost a sasquatch anyway, except for tires and small lift!!

I ordered a 2-door Badlands, non-SAS, 2.3L, 7-speed. Still waiting, but saw no point in the SAS.

i have a badlands 4 door with 33s. I have also had a squatched 2 door outerbanks. The plan was to keep my badlands for about 6 months and when the 2 door came in i would sell the badlands and keep the 2 door. Well sure enough 6 months came, and i went and picked up the squatched 2 door. The ride back is about 40 miles. At the 20 mile mark i had already changed my mind. The 35s were loud. The ride was night and day difference. Now without a doubt, the squatched 2 door is a looker. But for a daily driver there was no comparison. Im also probably in the minority, but i love the soft top too. Its so easy to go back and forth between top on and topless.

Can you elaborate on the difference in ride between non SAS and SAS please?

I'm waiting on my non sas badlands. the 35" tire size raises it less than an inch. sas has M/T tires while non sas has A/T tires. not sure there's much else different; lower gears, bumper etc. Some say the M/T tires pick up and throw rocks.

As @DaveInSA mentioned, manual comes with 4.70 gearing standard (which is why Sasquatch on a manual makes no sense). Automatic is 4.46 standard.

But I was responding to @Last toy who mentioned he wanted the crash bars. If you want the crash bars you aren't going to be able to run 35" tires... max you'll be able to do is 33" maybe some 34" tires. And if you are running those tire sizes you don't need the 4.70 gearing on a 10-speed transmission, it just doesn't make any sense.
