I only noticed a 27.5% reduction in ambient noise while driving. Not satisfied. Who do I see about refunding my $6.00?

Did you wax the insulation before installing? That automatically reduces quieting factor by .5 dB

I dont think so, look at the roof panel profile, this is underneath the side fold. If you find any moisture in that channel, you likely have a leaking roof at the rubber seals between panels. If anything, the snake will inhibit sideways precip from entering where that corse foam vent is!

Do you also snake it around the front of the vehicle?

Like above the aux switches? That’s where I seem to get most of my wind noise.

This a great cheap benefit. I have a Bestop, and need to look and see if the same size insulation would fit mine just as well.

For further general sound insulation, I bought $80 (two yards) of 5mm wetsuit material (neoprene pad with fabric bonded to each side for durability). It will be my sleeping pad when camping, but is stowed between my mesh top and roof. I can't say it was as big an improvement as filling actual gaps, but is a decent sound buffer.

I have tried the same thing with the soft top. It did decrease the wind noise. I am still experimenting.

Where did you put this insulation on the soft top?

I wonder how often they will need to be replaced if one lives in high heat region because they will dry out and become brittle and flake off? I had some stored in my garage and wanted to use them to make some outdoor faucet covers during a freezing spell and they just crumbled in my hands.
