I‘m interested depending on price.

1) yes need to see a pic of the front view camera with and without the bull bar.
2) Yes make the bull bar removable and an option at purchase for those who want it.
3) yes it would have to have holes for the parking sensors.

Question: 1)is this an add on to the current modular bumper or a complete bumper itself?

2) What winch is that and what models will fit?
add on to the current modular bumper

Nice work. I'd be interested in seeing the structural specs. Gauge of steel being used, type of steel, weld specs, and internal strengthening used. Would also want to see some lab testing of the strength and integrity. With a big winch on it doing some heavy pulling...last thing you want is a catastrophic failure.

Also, will it be powder coated in the Ford Carbon Gray - M7 color code?
When I'm actually done with it, I'll post the parameters and try to do some testing

Which bumpers would this work with? It appears to be the mod bumper in the pics. Will it work with the standard plastic bumper?
I will also design it for standard plastic bumpers

This (though I’m fine with bar, either way). For extra credit, make it attach with pins instead of bolts. I’d want to keep it in the cargo area and only attach when I need to self-recover. I’ve been dreaming up ways to make this myself but I’d be happy to buy yours instead
Haven't tried connecting them using pins, I will try, if there is a similar product, that would be great, help me to understand

I'd definitely be intersted but don't need the bull bar (already have one). Camera, sensors, etc are a non-issue for me.

Setting aside for a moment whether or not other manufacturers provide such safety information, most of the well-known dominant manufacturers in this sector, such as ORF, Poison Spyder, Fab Fours, etc, have been building and selling winch bumpers in the US market for a long time and are based in the US. They have proven track record of quality and safety performance. And, being US based they are subject to US product liability laws, which have a way of protecting us all by mitigating the risks of legal liability by designing and manufacturing their products to meet appropriate safety standards. I like what Mabett is doing and the business he is building and it works well within the low risk interior space, but this product ventures into a higher risk area, which merits some questions and answers. And, with all due respect to Mabett, it is not a long time proven manufacturer of a product that has a high risk of injury should a catastrophic failure occur. Further, Mabett is based in China and sadly, the recourse against such an off-shore company is very challenging. All that is not to suggest that Mabett would not produce a quality product that meets appropriate safety requirements (he seems genuinely interested in producing good products), but the pressure on it to spend the money to do so is not the same as that on the long time, US based manufacturers. Mabett can address these issues by providing detailed information that goes toward safety and builds consumer confidence. Steel type, gauge of metal, weld specs, structural design, etc.
I think I should have provided these parameters as well as security testing, I don't want anything catastrophic to happen

i will do it

@Mabett so does it replace that bottom center portion of the modular bumper completely? just curious.

i know someone asked about how it would interface with the front camera but a winch would obscure the view so you would need to have someway to relocate that camera. Also I see like it has some holes for the front sensors i believe so just make sure you test that first since the winch mount pushes out further than the bumper.
I'll post the installation video when I'm actually done with it

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, I'll be putting everyone's suggestions together in the next few days, which will determine how many versions of Front Winch Bumpers I'll build

I'm definitely interested but I don't need the bull bar. Thanks for making that an option for us. If the camera and sensors are not blocked, I will purchase when available.

Hi
So Rough Country, Smittybilt and a lot of 4 wheel parts stuff are made overseas.

frankly I am poking because I don't trust some of the US based companies that have posted here. I have studied What Warn and Ford have done with their offerings and I feel that there are some key elements missed by a lot of the other manufacturers..

I am all in on US made. My TrailReady wheels and my custom winch mount where made locally by local craftspeople.

I truly believe that there are a bunch of winch mounts out there that are not engineered or strong enough. I just wish people would research farther than where it is made.
I agree with there being significant differences. However, the only add-on winch mount I've seen on the market is the @JcrOffroad option, so I used their choice for comparison to the Warn/Ford Performance option.

If you look at Warn's and Ford Performance's instructions for installation of their kit, you'll see several additional pieces that I feel add more overall strength to their winch mount. For example, the clevis mounts that replace the recovery tow hooks are reinforced to the frame using an adapter and two existing bolts. In addition, a second nut is attached to the adapter bracket for additional reinforcement. Lastly, the frame rail bracket is replaced and reinforced by a new frame bracket with other brackets and bolts.

@JcrOffroad's option comes with two replacement "shackle tabs" and looks to reuse the three bolts that mount the bumper to the frame. Unfortunately, this is the only support for their winch mount plate. So, some concerns about the overall strength of this setup.

Hopefully, @Mabett is looking at additional reinforcement pieces rather than only the three bolts used to mount the bumper to the frame.

Unfortunately I’m not aware of any products like this currently on the market. I may develop one, though. Perhaps we could work together
