As a Bronco Reservation holder for two years now, I wonder if anyone else is concern about the crash safety of Bronco! I mean Bronco is a cool car with lots of off-road capabilities but would it be safe enough to have your family in it when there’s no proper rating on it!
Just wondering your thoughts…

That seems pretty out dated to me. IIHS rated it very high. the only thing that kept it from top marks was the headlights didnt throw far enough around a bend. (Unimportant in my opinion) as someone whos worried about the same thing since its gonna be my daily driver and looked at crashes thet have been reported, i think its one of the safest cars out there. I watched a video of one that rolled, they flipped it and kept driving. Its an impressive vehicle.

Modern crash test ratings are light years a head of old cars, so 3 stars is good enough for me.

Quite literally never looked at nor gave a flying fuck about crash ratings.

I've heard Volvos are basically bubble wrap on wheels, may be worth checking those out.

The thing about crash test ratings is that they are under very specific circumstances. So, hit from this angle, this speed, this amount of force, etc. and none of this is secret to the manufacturer. Because of that, results could potentially be manipulated. Remember VW engineering computer to recognize when the engine was being run under the circumstances used to get mileage ratings in order to improve mileage scoring?
A high rating is still typically better than a low one, but take some of this with a grain of salt. If you want a better real world review, look for other independent sources like Consumer Reports or whatever.
With all of that said, if your Bronco is lifted, it is already going to be at a disadvantage for crash safety. However, I would say that with the number of airbags and other safety equipment built into modern cars, they are WAYYYY better than similar vehicles built over 10 years ago, so rest easy.
Consumer Reports isn’t really independent. They purposefully killed off the Samurai.

I have never looked at safety ratings when buying a vehicle. I think the only time I would ever consider it; is if it was for my partners vehicle. Cause we all know how women drive 🤣 And if I was considering two vehicles and can't decide which. the safety rating may decide the final verdict.

Bad crash tests ratings will probably mean higher insurance premiums

The wife and I own like 7 motorcycles between the two of us.

I also own a jeep that has not had the roof or doors on in years.

We do track days, rock crawl, and other dangerous activities.

Life is about living the best you can and a little danger just comes with the fun.

So, no one cares about the crash ratings in my household.

Most days I ride a motorcycle. So do my kids. And my grandson.
Wonder how those rate?

Can promptly be filed under no one cares. Maybe a Volvo might be more warranted? Boxy, but safe.
