Updated the other MT noise thread yesterday on my status but for those keeping track here..the new slave cylinder the dealership was waiting on came in. Before they started working on my rig they took a closer look and decided it was best to replace the whole transmission. No ETA when it will be in but I am able to drive it for now
Yeah I was told that if the vehicle has under a certain amount of mileage that the fix was a new transmission. They wont replace just a single part. Thats what happened to me and how it was explained when mine was replaced.

It makes sense and as frustrating as it is I'd rather the full replacement.

Good news is that I have no noise now, even though it was a pain in the ass. You'll be happy as well not to hear that noise.

Initially Ford had advised that the replacement transmission would be shipped to my dealer by the second week of April. I called my dealer today to check on the status of transmission delivery, and they told me that nothing has been shipped yet, and that Ford will release the transmission on the second week of May, but they do not know when they will receive it.. FORD is Toying with us , and we should all get together and file a lawsuit against FORD. This is the most irresponsible car manufacture on this planet.

I took our 4 door badlands to my ordering dealer for my 5000 mile oil change and complained of this same noise from the manual transmission. I was told there is nothing we can do as Ford does not have any TSBs for the issue. I called Ford and lodged a product complaint regarding the noise. I was advised I could pay my local dealer to pull the transmission and if they found an issue Ford would cover the labor to pull and diagnose it. I then contacted Ray in this thread to get the name of the Ford dealer that successfully diagnosed and got Ford to agree to install a new transmission. It was worth the 90 minute drive to Northern New Jersey. If you have the rattle noise, just move the gear shift lever toward the 6th gear position and pull down lightly (do not try to put it in gear, the clutch must be out) if the noise goes away you have the same issue and Ford is replacing the units if you have under 10K on you Bronco. I was able to pick it up after they diagnosed it and Ford told them they will replace it, but the units are on backorder. The name of the dealer is Fette Ford in Clifton, NJ and the service managers name is Steve Roman.

Hey Kurt, glad that worked out for you! So where are they going to do the work? At your dealer or at Fette down here. I will say at least Steve at Fette knows his stuff and glad they are doing the right thing. Makes me feel better bringing the car in for service! Ive got at 2k with the new transmission and no issues or that dreaded noise.

I had an issue when I received my Big Bend 2door manual after it was transported 3/4 across the US. Apparently the dealership that I bought it from never did a proper QC check upon them receiving my bronco. It would not want to go into 3rd or 5th gear without basically being forced and grinding gears. The dealership where I live now in Knoxville (that I did not purchase the Bronco from keep that in mind) was apologetic and were extremely quick to examine it. They informed me that they had put a notice in to Ford Engineering and they wanted to look at my transmission and expedited a full replacement trans. I have had it a little over 2 weeks now and drives like a dream with no issues. Not sure if Ford was having some production issues with the first round but it appears that way.

oh man, just ordered my badlands/7sp yesterday.... is this what I am to expect in 8-12 months?:confused:
If you ordered at the end of January, I wouldn't stress about having to worry about this any time in 2022 or possibly 2023. 💀💀💀

I'm definitely curious where the line is between a bad throw-out bearing v normal 7MT noise.

I occasionally hear a slight noise from my idling 7MT, like a mouse trying to scratch it's way out of a cardboard box. I wasn't worried about it until I read this thread. Lol.

My Tacoma's 2.7 sounded like a cold diesel engine from day one, and lasted issue free for 140,000 (until I traded her for the Bronco). So I figure I will just drive it until more info comes out.

Thanks for sharing ! The issue with my Bronco was confirmed by a Ford engineer on March 5th, and the dealer had told me that the new transmission would arrive by the second week of April, now Ford is advising that the transmission is on backorder and will not be released until the second week of May.

So.... i got my bronco back from the dealer on Friday and drove it a bit this weekend. I'm happy to report that the noise is gone. Currently sitting at 1,7xx mile range. I do wonder whether the problem will resurface, so i'm going to schedule some time with the tech/service advisor to understand that further.

I called to get mine into get looked at. Their transmission person is so busy, first available appointment is May 31st. Doesn’t give me hope for a timely fix.

yes, this was the main reason why mine sat for 2 weeks, just waiting for a bay for the transmission techs.

Did they recommend you not drive it until repaired?
