It uses the word "temporary" but mine have never sped up after slowing down. I bet none here have. That is a problem.

I just picked mine up Wednesday. Yesterday I was driving home in the rain and it started doing it. Will try contacting the dealer on Monday, but probably need to do more. Wasn't fun switching the setting on the wipers while driving.

Same thing happened to me first night driving it home, city streets, 40mph, downpour, I couldn’t see, tried turning them up, they were already on their highest setting. I actually had to slow down to see. Wipers were not cutting it. I remembered seeing something about wipers so I just dug back into the forum.

I am fairly confident a software update can fix this providing they “built in” enough thermal overhead in the motors.

I’m sure it worked fine in their simulations and test cells but the real world doesn’t care about simulations. This may not matter much when it is warm out but this is EXTREMELY dangerous in freezing rain.

We don’t just test in environmental test chambers.
This is in no way an absolution but I guarantee I have more miles in adverse conditions in the 6th generation Bronco than anyone else on this forum. I’ve personally never experienced this problem during development or in the last 23,000 miles of my personal Bronco but I believe people when they say there’s an issue. Ford believes you too. It’s going to get fixed. It’s obvious the issue exists. Reproducing it so that it can evolve from SSM to TSB will take a little time though.
It could be down to a bad batch of wiper motors or an overall software flash is needed.
I appreciate the update and informing us that Ford is actively working on the issue. I have a service appointment scheduled Monday for this issue. I am going to cancel and save the time it would take to bring it in since there is no fix yet.
It wouldn’t hurt to let them see if they can replicate it honestly. That way they can submit it up to Ford for a fix and it’ll give them a data point to reference for investigation. Though I don’t know timeframe of how long they’d keep your Bronco and I’d understand not wanting to be a Guinea pig

Glad to hear this is being addressed. I've had plenty of times when my wipers are acting 'normal' - as in, I set them at a setting and they continue to function, but at any time when I switch from one wiper setting to another it's a roll of the dice if they work, or eventually slow way down, or go intermittent. I still do plan to bring to the dealer, as it functions incorrectly often enough that they shouldn't have any issue seeing the problem.

Update.
So with numerous emails with Ford Canada and 3 services. Today for took my Bronco for the day and they did absolutely nothing to it. They did not even turn a wrench on it. When I picked today the service manager said that it is had a load sensitive wiper motor and it is working as Ford engineers designed it. So no mechanical issue exists and ford is working on a program change for the load sensitive motor and recommended adjust wiper speed from different modes to reset the issue. So now it is a dead issue until Ford gets the new program downloaded. Or until someone dies I guess!

Mine had the slow down issue a month ago in freezing rain. I tried it again and now it seems to have fixed itself. At least for the moment.
My issue also appears to have fixed itself. I was driving in a heavy rain last week and the wipers kept switching from high speed to intermittent. I would switch to low and back to high to resume the high speed. After approximately a half hour of doing this the wipers stayed on high the rest of the trip. Even after turning the vehicle off and back on the wipers functioned properly. I haven't tried the wipers since that day so I am not sure if it's permanently fixed.

Update
I got a email from ford Canada retention giving me $500 towards any Ford accessories or service. For the trouble and bringing forth this issue. Engineering is still working on a fix. It will be a program download. So keep a eye out for this recall.
