Wiper control speed issues URGENT SAFETY

One note is that I was tinkering in Forscan the other day and scrolling through all the sections. One line item stood out to me - Rain Sensing Wiper. Mine was toggled to “disable”. I have the Lux package so I should have this feature. I have not had any rain to drive in though so I can’t speak to how mine actually functions. I just bring this up for conversation’s sake and maybe others with this issue can check their system in Forscan?

I read a few different times the full size Bronco doesn't have rain sensing wipers on any trim. The Bronco Sport w/Outer Banks and Higher does though.

I’d suggest anyone having this issue (in the US, obviously from previous responses, Canada has to go through a different place) send a PM to Ford Motor Company like their post in this thread requests. I submitted my info to them today and have a case #. Hopefully the more people submit info, the quicker they can get a fix for it.

This happened to me last night driving home in the rain. Had the wiper control set on high, wipers gradually slowed and eventually went to intermittent. I recorded a video for those who haven't seen this issue themselves.

That's pretty bad and I can see how this could be super dangerous. Hopefully it gets resolved soon. I'm sure @Ford Motor Company doesn't want a Chevy Cobalt/Ignition switch type of incident to deal with.

I drove home last night in a sideways rain storm here on the east coast. I had the wipers on for a full hour on high and higher. No issues with wiper speed.

I also have not experienced this and have ran my wipers quite a bit in the top 2 wiper settings. I think it's been established that most aren't experiencing this issue but some def are having trouble as shown in the video above.

Whether is something wrong in the motor or somewhere in the logic, there is clearly a gremlin causing trouble for some folks.

I don't think it's a motor issue since rapidly switching to low speed and back to high will resume wiping at high speed for another minute or so. I'm not sure which module controls the wiper speed. I've been in contact with my dealer and @Ford Motor Company so we'll see if they find anything.

mine are all screwed up. They stutter and turn off on there own

This is my first time seeing this thread. Started at the beginning seeing as the first post was on 12/28/21, I figured, well let’s see how Ford resolved this.

Shocked that this has been an issue for over 4 MONTHS now without resolution. Someone is going to get killed.

2021-2022 Bronco vehicles are equipped with a smart windshield wiper motor, which has the capability of sensing load of the wiper blades coming across the windshield glass. As a result of this operational characteristic/design, the operation may not be what is expected in certain conditions. The vehicle is programmed with protection features to prevent damage to the wiper motor in case of overheating, operation with dry windshields, or obstructions to the wiper blade (snow, ice, etc.). In such conditions, the wiper motor will temporarily reduce its speed and/or reduce area of cleaning until the condition is no longer present.

Oh great, now Ford is going to tell us this is how they were designed so there is nothing wrong with the wipers. It still doesn't solve the problem of not being able to see in the pouring rain.

Actually they’re trying to solve the issue and are not saying it was intentionally designed to inhibit wiper function in heavy rain. Don’t twist the wording please.

It’s believed currently the load sensing ranges need to be altered.

I don't like my wipers to be fast so I avoid the highest setting unless absolutely needed. This past weekend was the first time it was absolutely needed.

After a while they did start slowing down and I thought I had this problem, but the rain was letting up too so I think it was just behaving as @drew707 described.
