There have been several that I’ve seen. I got the Bronc Buster bushing for mine to be safe.
I didn't pay $40k...and I didn't say I should "get anything I want". It appears as though the stock part is subpar for many of the tasks the Bronco is advertised as being capable of doing. If you're fine with it and don't mind being nickel and dimed then awesome, cool for you.
That makes no sense but hey you be you. I’ll just say this other than extreme use cases, stupidity, or manufacturing issues I’ve yet to see a bronco have a failure. I’ve watched hours of videos both ford produced and independently produced and the tie rods and the steering rack have functioned just fine. Ford like jeep engineered these vehicles pretty damn good out of the box, being irritated that they added a heavy duty box on as an option or as standard on the raptor and then saying it should be part of the normal price Bc you paid 50k is misguided and doesn’t make any sense.

It's hard to believe that's the only upgrade to the rack...it would have cost Ford maybe $20 to add that little bushing into all of the racks when designed...probably less.
Interested to hear. Definitely be cheaper than buying an upgraded unit from Ford. Glad I got mine!
I agree but it was a problem found after design. And there haven't been enough failures to warrant a recall to fix. So they will let sell a "upgraded Rack" to those who think they will need it.

Did he talk about the weak tie rod ends? I can see adding the sleeve to strengthen the steering rack, but the aftermarket is also toughening up the tie rods.
I have definitely thought about this a lot and I think that the retaining cap is made to be like a "fuse" for the rack in the event of an accident so the wheel does not tear your thumbs off. Happens a lot in drifting with EPAS racks where people have locked wheels and had their steering snap their wrists like twigs, so I would not be surprised if they wanted to avoid this on the Broncos. In fact, IIRC Aaron Losey with Lone Star Drift had an S197 Mustang break his wrist. I had a BRZ try to gnaw my pretty little fingers off as well. Obviously you should keep your thumbs up if you want to keep them, but Ford still needs to take care of the uneducated. We also know that Ford only did crash testing using NON-SAS Broncos with smaller tires, which explains why they fail the second a larger tire is installed.
