@Roll Sound I am having issues with fit as well, how did you mod yours? It looks good!
I used painters tape on the backside, the side closest to door. Then I put them in place for a second with one screw and a push pin. Then I traced where the fender flare and body touched it. Then I cut the flap â…›" bigger than the trace line. I used a Bosch jigsaw, but you could cut them with anything.

OP:

I know this thread is a few months old but I just got these for the front.

I HATE the diagram only instructions, and one part is driving me crazy….I can’t figure out where exactly this little bracket is supposed to go “underneath”

it’s step 8. It seems way too below the little piece of the body that I would THINK it goes on.

any tip on this? Or could you take a photo for me?

i can’t find any videos online of this install

That’s exactly where it goes. There’s a slot in the mudflap and you push it up through that to hold it against the fender liner. I’m out of town or I’d take a pic.

I have OEM mud flaps, which have not been installed yet! Does the metal clip (D) that accepts the one bolt slide over the felt liner? If so, doesn't the metal clip rub against the painted metal fender flare lip? I have some spare rubber washer if so!

I haven't gotten to that step! Actually, I haven't even started! I'm trying to figure out the metal clip D! In step 4, does the metal clip slip over the felt liner? And if so, wouldn't the metal clip rub up against the painted fender flare lip?

Yep. It goes through the hole in the flap and presses it against the the painted fender flare lip. You can always put a piece of backing behind it if you didn't want to scratch/expose the paint. For instance, I cut a square chunk out of the plastic (that I cut out for the sasquatch flares) and sandwiched it between the clip and the metal.

Thanks for the idea.....I thought I was only one who have a problem with the setup. Are you still able to remove the flare for cleaning between the flare and body fender?

You technically can..and the extra piece will allow it to slide off easier, but I doubt the clips will stay very tight for long if removed often.

I don't plan on removing mine until Ford comes out with a proper molded Sasquatch flare and then they'll be on long term. I've had similar flares on my F150 now for 10+ years and no signs of rust yet around them, so i'm not too worried about residue.

The clips squeeze the splash guard to the fender flare? I would just buy these but with the OBX painted flares I am concerned about it rubbing the paint away. Are the splash guard and flare full on touching on the outside there?

Yea, I know the shadow kind of makes it seem like it’s not touching, but the fit is perfect.

On your OBX, you could put maybe a little rubber gasket or even a piece of PPF behind the clip where it would touch the fender.

Not sure if worth - needs to be cut/modified too much to work with side steps AND protecting the fender flare. Thanks for the closeups though. Guess Ill still wait to see where Rokblokz is at, at release.
