Who's adding Keyless Keypad Entry and why?

Love'm. My dogs lock my doors all the time, and I can punch back in. I can also leave the rig running with the AC on and the doors locked. What's the disadvantage?

Why not just use ford pass app? keypad no good it you take your doors off

If the doors are off there isn't much of a point in locking them..

I just picked my pony up the day before. The keypad was color matched already when I got it.

I use this feature all the time on my F150. The ford pass does not work because I don’t bring a phone either.

Throw everything in the truck, lock doors and jump on the jet skis.

I got it. It’s handy time to time to let others in or to lock it up with key inside at the beach. Mostly just to worry less about keys in general. I’m planning on moving it to the back.

I dropped it from my order when I learned that it has a “lifetime” battery, that it is stuck to the door with adhesive, and that it might be put on crooked.

How about a fingerprint scanner? Proven tech - works well on computers and phones. Would be easier to make less noticable on the vehicle body as well. Potential issue would be inclement weather causing issues reading.

i put mine on the pillar as it looks better there and doesn’t matter if I have the doors on or off. Still unlocks the tailgate this way as well.

Now that right there is a nice solution!

The keyless pad is the best… go skiing ir mt biking? Leave your keys in the truck so they aren’t rattling around or getting lost. Kids want to go out and get something without hunting for keys? Keyless pad is the answer.

I have a keyless pad on my Expo and F150 and lock my keys inside all the time.

I just added one. I’ve had them on all my ford vehicles.
To answer the why don’t you use FordPass?
1. Well at the beach and certain other things I don’t carry my phone either.
2. If my kids need something out of the car when camping or anywhere they know the code and get get whatever they need without bothering me.

just tested yes it will lock with the keys inside. I have the console lock and the locking drawer. And plan to lock my keys inside the safe.

some people hide them and I don’t understand that. It’s not like everyone knows the code

Mine did not come with it. I added it after purchase. But guys have been taking fishing line and carefully cutting the two sided tape. Use 3m double sided automotive tape when re installing.

Have it and like it. I give the code to other runners and hikers,family members in case they get back early or forget something. At over 300.00 a keypad it is not getting lost.

Not getting it but I've read others are so that they can lock their keys in their car. Honestly not sure if this is even possible to do. My vehicle is a 2011 and even back then if it sensed my keys IN the car, it wouldn't lock. A safety feature so that you don't lock your keys in. Saved my hide a few times tbh in these past ten years

It's possible trust me. Did it at a convenience store in Southern Louisiana on our drive back to VA less than 24 hours after picking my Bronco up at the dealership. Hadn't programmed my personal code in it yet either and the factory code was still sealed in plastic in the glove box. Phones next to the key fob in the tray. Perfect storm of my idiocy.

I've had them on all my vehicles when possible. If I'm hiking, hunting, out on the boat, etc. I don't want to take my keys with me, so they stay in the vehicle. Was a habit hopping out and pressing the 7&9 button together to lock the doors....
