@Dusty at ICON What is the weight difference between all tubular and all billet? I've had your billet components in the past and they look great. This time around (on the Bronco) I'm wanting to save weight.

Can I even buy a kit with all tubular? Stage 8 for example.
Yes each of the stages have both billet and tubular versions. As for weight the aluminum versions aren't much lighter. I don't have exact component weights handy but from looking at the shipping weights it's looking like the billet versus aluminum for each component set is within about 5 lbs. In the case of these suspension components, the aluminum versions aren't really intended or claimed as a weight saving strategy.

From what

@Dusty at ICON Will there be a stage 9 within the next few months? From what I remember on an earlier thread from ICON was that you guys were releasing these suspension kits from stages 3-9 in the upcoming months or something to that effect.
We reconfigured the stage numbers just prior to release, lopping off the old Stage 3 because it was just front and rear coilovers without UCA's. But we've determined that you really do need the UCA's so we're not offering any of these preconfigured kits without them. That's why they don't go all the way to 9 as we originally intended. For what its worth, those who just want to buy the coilovers can still do so, if they want to run a different aftermarket UCA or roll the dice and stick with the stock ones.

Also for anyone who is wondering, as I'm not sure if I mentioned it before, Stages 1 & 2 are being reserved for our EXP shocks, which I've hinted at previously.

@Dusty at ICON Good to have a choice between billet and tubular. (y)

When you say "each component set" are you referring to a set as everything minus coilovers?
Or is a set considered UCAs, with another set being U/L Links?

And what is the reason Icon offers billet and tubular options, if not for weight savings?

By set I mean that the parts aren't sold individually. They're in pairs. You can't buy just one lower rear link, you have to buy both the right and left. Same with upper rear links, UCA's, etc.

There are some small advantages with the billet units such as on-vehicle adjustability. You can read about the features and benefits of each, in the specific threads I have posted here in the forum. But for the most part you will get identical performance out of the tubular versions for quite a bit less money. We make both because there is a subset of customers that will want those features even though the billet ones cost more to produce.

Love to see it!

Guessing the front travel is quoted with the UCAs… is that rear travel number quoted from a kit with the lower links, upper links, and track bar?

Bajakits is quoting similar travel numbers with king shocks and their Billet UCA/lower link combo which is why I’m wondering

Yes the travel numbers are using our UCA's, stock front LCA's, and our rear links and track bar.

ICON Vehicle Dynamics is excited to announce Stages 3 through 8 of our Complete Suspension Systems for 2021+ Ford Bronco!

STAGE 8: ON-THE-FLY SHOCK TUNING

ICON's Top Of The Range suspension system features lightning fast, precise electronic shock tuning, on-the-fly, at any speed and in any terrain. Focus on driving and let ICON Intelligent Control (IIC) read the terrain and make near-instant adjustments via the Compression Damping Electronic Valve (CDEV) at each individual shock. Control the system wirelessly through the IIC app on your phone. Once configured the system functions without driver input.
K40008_web_large.jpg

STAGE 8 Includes:
  • BRONCO FRONT 2.5 VS RR CDEV COILOVER KIT
  • BRONCO REAR 2.5 VS RR CDEV COILOVER KIT
  • BRONCO ICON INTELLIGENT CONTROL MODULE & INSTALL KIT
  • BRONCO TUBULAR or BILLET UCA KIT WITH DELTA JOINT PRO
  • BRONCO TUBULAR or BILLET REAR UPPER LINK KIT
  • BRONCO TUBULAR or BILLET REAR LOWER LINK KIT
  • BRONCO REAR ADJUSTABLE TRACK BAR KIT

IMPORTANT TECH NOTES
  • 2-Door models will sit slightly higher than 4-door due to weight difference. For all models, final lift height is subject to variations due to equipment weight and load-out.
  • When running 37" tires, Up-Travel Limiters are required to prevent tire contact with wheel well liners at full compression. These are sold separately (p/n 611075 front; p/n 611074 rear)
  • On Broncos equipped with factory crash bars (non-Sasquatch models), ICON High Clearance Crash Bars are recommended when running up to 35" tires.
  • When running 37" tires, factory crash bars (if present) may need to be removed, and further trimming may be required, to prevent rubbing (not recommended by ICON).
These Complete Suspension Kits will be available for pre-order soon, contact your favorite Authorized ICON Dealer or watch this thread to be the first to know when ordering opens on the ICON website!
@Dusty at ICON I am considering going with the stage 8 ICON suspension setup, I do have some questions though in regards to ICON's warranty and reportedly horrible customer service that I have found on Youtube videos and people leaving comments. Usually, it is about the shocks leaking. Although there are people with great experiences with ICONs and say they will be a repeat customer, I am want to hear directly from you what is covered under the warranty, does the warranty require professional installation, and when is the recommended rebuild service on these new CDEV coil-overs?

Hi there Jaime. Below is a screenshot of the warranty that is printed in all of our shock instructions. This one I lifted from the similar Jeep application but it will be the same on the Bronco kits when those ship.

I won't make excuses for any unhappy customers you may have seen on the internet. Every company has them, and I'm sure we have our share of them too. I will say that the occasional unhappy customer makes WAY more noise than all of the satisfied ones, and normally you hear one side of the story (theirs), while the company in question has to remain quiet about it publicly rather than be seen as being antagonistic toward their customers. I've only been at ICON for a few months, but I know from a long history in this business that sometimes customers have a legitimate gripe, and sometimes they're being unreasonable. I won't go look for and re-hash any of those incidents you have seen. But I can tell you that we strive to make our customers happy, and I'm sure ICON has done so for the many years it has been making these products long before I came around. If they didn't, we wouldn't still be in business.

I had a full icon kit on an FJ of mine and a JK, first class product second to none in my experience. Couldn’t ask for a better engineered product and support during installation. I considered using all caps to yell this but I don’t want to make @Dusty at ICON out to be a liar……😉. Icon is top of the food chain for coilover suspension in my experience.

@Dusty at ICON Awesome, well I have known of ICON back in 2008 when they were at the 2008 FJ Summit in Colorado. ICON had what looked like rebranded Redbull 12oz cans in a large 55 plastic barrel on ice and supplied the whole event with free energy drinks over the course of 4-5 days. The labeling was top-notch in its ICON graphics design. ICON suspension parts were top notch for the FJ but I already had the Sway-aways on with total chaos UCAs. With that experience in mind and the hospitality of ICON during that event, I am all in for the ICONS :).

Today I purchased the ICON Stage 8 billet suspension kit with RPGs full tie rod kit from Lethal Performance @lethaljake. Can't wait to install this beast of suspension in my FE Bronco!!!

That's great to hear! Thank you for placing your trust in ICON :) I believe that gets you in on the initial production run which is already in progress, rather than subject to the very long lead times us and the rest of the industry are currently subject to

What does that mean for lesser stage orders that were placed with a different vendor?

It looks like the bump stop spacers for 37's can be installed without coilover disassembly.
