That is promising. There are rumors flying in the one 2.7 tracking thread that there was a parts change and replacement engines are on hold for some waiting due to ford engineers redesigning some parts... so that seemed concerning, but again rumors and a little bit of "my dealer said". Nice to hear almost directly from an engineer that worked on the 2.7 that it was a fluke bad batch of parts which ties into the original thinking.He did, and laughed it off as a fluke batch of parts. I asked how widespread and he said it "isn't even a thing" so i'd presume, as others have seemed to figure out, that it was a crummy batch and hopefully will be a non-issue going forward.
He expressed compliments towards both engines, tbh, but really was a fan of the 2.7. I never considered it due to the 7 speed, but I get the feeling it'll be a small blip compared to all the other frustrations we've had![]()
