I’ve had the new Bronco Big Bend w Tow for about two weeks. I’m hearing a low rumbling at low speeds and especially on uneven surfaces. It sounds and feels like going 60mph w one window open. I can feel it in my ears. It’s 20x worse and undriveable when I tow something (in my case a 1500 lb aluminum boat). I sent it to the Ford dealership and they hear it but said they have no idea what it is. I bought this car partially so I can tow my boat (which I currently can’t do). Any ideas? I would be very much appreciative.

Check your trailer tongue weight, is it more than 150lbs?

Remove your spare tire, check the pressure relief vents, the four white flaps on the tailgate, do they move freely?

What do those pressure relief vents do exactly?

Obviously release some sort of pressure, lol, but never heard of them before.

Resonant frequencies? - hard to track down, only way to eliminate is change one of the contributing frequencies, ie speed up, slow down, change RPM.etc

Sounds like a tire rebalance, unless you hear it more than feel it with your foot on the floorboard. Then the air stuff adds up. A driveshaft imbalance would tear it apart pretty quick, how many miles has it been like that?

Locker Clutch defective, likely assembled that way. 100 miles on it.
No ETA on parts. Can't drive on it or the rear will eat itself.
@Djstang2011 I copied your post from another thread, perhaps your experience will help with the problem in this thread.

What were the indications your rear locker was bad, grinding, vibration, or?

At first it sounded like a rock in a tire, a thumping sound that followed wheel speed. The more I listened to it I realized it wasn’t a rock, and the sound only happened on decel or coast with no throttle input. Any throttle input would make the sound stop. There was never a vibration that I could feel. I thought it was something stupid like a dry slip joint in a driveshaft or a bad u joint.
I was a little surprised when they told me the locker clutch was bad. The sound started immediately, unfortunately I had the B&O system cranked for the first 50 miles or so. 100 miles on it as it sits right now.

Every vehicle has them, usually hidden, they let the pressure out of the cabin when you close or slam the door.
Flaps
Also, check all your tire pressures, run them at 35psi and have the dealer re-balance the tires.

Flaps move without a problem

Tried rebalance and didn’t work. I I don’t feel it in the steering wheel or floorboard. I literally feel it in my ears. Pulsating noise almost like sitting next to a bass speaker.
