The biggest constraint other than roof seems to be dealer allocation. Unfortunately, dealers tend to be either tight lipped or just guess when it comes to those numbers.

Yeah, I have learned to not put much stock into what the dealerships say. These forums seem to have a much better grasp on reality.

Has anyone been giving any indication of how much longer the 2.7’s are taking? I’m spoiled with my Tahoe LTZ V8, but I guess when you want a Bronco, beggars can’t be choosers.

It's hard to tell because the dealer allocation amount and types of orders in front of you at that dealer aren't really public info

The 2.3 is less constrained than the 2.7 and just gives you the best shot at fastest turnaround from order to delivery. If you really want the 2.7, you'll have to just hope there aren't too many buildable orders in front of you so that yours gets picked up. The rest of your vehicle should be pretty easy to build, so you have a very good chance of getting it in 2022, even with the 2.7l, just when is the question.

I would drop the tow package and maybe drop down to a 2.3. At that point you've got a good shot of getting picked up sooner rather than later

Yes, agreed! Also, the 2.3 is absolutely capable, having personally test driven both in 2-door and 4-door configurations. Unless you're coming from a performance sports car/suv, you will be more than happy with the 2.3L I4 engine in the 4-door Bronco.

I have an F-150 with the 5.4 (320HP/390TQ) and the 2.3L is just as peppy/quick in city and on highway. Your Tahoe has similar hp/torque as my truck so I would expect the same results, but you just have to go and drive one to be sure.

Ford is not all that transparent on which builds get built first. Dealerships can only relay what Ford says, so you have to go by what others are getting built. Based on my experience with this forum, more 2.3L soft-top 4-doors have been built than any other configurations, and some of them within a few months of placing their order!

I had the 4dr soft top 2.3 MT in Black Diamond. Loved the soft top. I actually found it quieter than my hardtop. The 2.3L was more than adequate for me, but I have a 2 DR BD now with SAS and the 2.7L engine is powerful. It was my original build and it finally came in. None of these trucks regardless of engine are going to be screaming fast off the line, they are geared so low. I think the magic ticket was Big Bend, 2.3, softop no tow as stated earlier. I conisdered ordering another 4 door but with an automatic but was told 2 years. Please share your build estimate if you get one, would be curious to see where things stand. Good luck!
