I've ordered the bumper bar below from JRC Offroad (along with all of their molle stuff), and want to mount 2 Baja Designs LP9 Pro's between the arc of the bull bar on the modular HD bumper. I think that will be great with their pocket light kit which is also on the way. However, by looking at the picture, it appears as if most of the easily accessible pre-drilled bolt (mount) holes are taken with this bumper bar. Does anyone know if I will have to drill through this tough mutha or can those posterior remaining mount holes (which are kind of deep underneath the grille) be accessed for mounting an LP9? Thanks in advance for any help.

I ordered the same Baja hoop. I think it’d be easier to get a couple of light bar mounts for the mod bumper and run that instead of the LP9’s. You could also get some tube clamp on light bar mounts and hang a 10“ bar under the top tube.

I definitely agree that it would be easier. I just really like these LP9's. It's not about need to me - kind of about looks. Just being honest. lol. I'm just wondering if drilling through this HD bumper is possible without taking it off and putting on a press. Sounds like a real pain. I'm guessing someone out there wants to mount a couple things in the dead center of the bumper.

I don’t think there is enough of a ledge on top of the mod bumper to drill for LP9’s. I can take a pic on mine tomorrow.

you may very well be correct. unless, Baja is measuring in centimeters instead of inches (I don't know). Looks like about 2 inches (5 cm) max of available depth by my measurement. I can't tell how these LP6's are mounted on Baja's SEMA car. Anyone?

Looks like there is a bracket that comes off the top of the bumper and hits the lights just below the mid point. The lights appear to be sitting in front of the bumper. LP9’s may be limited to something like the SVC bumper with the additional light bar mount. Never mind the red arrows on that pic.

agree - must be a DIY / one-off / home-made fabrication. i see no bracket like that on their website. Probably wouldn't be hard to make for someone who knew how to do it. (not me).

Probably not worth it, the lights would have no protection at all. Might as well get a new bumper to mount those lights. The SVC is on sale this month, around $1800 shipped with the add on light bar. I love the look of that bumper, I had added the arrows to show them where they could put the parking sensors.

what do you mean by no protection? protection from what? as opposed to what? my thinking is that the bumper bar I have (see top pic would jut out farther than the LP9's.? idk. I guess I could mount them upside down to the top bar of the bumper bar. I do now see that most trucks that run these have an additional little bar in front to make room. But I still think the SEMA Bronco's mounts would work under my bar. I've put in email to them asking for details. I will update when they respond.

No protection from shopping carts, trash cans, homeless people, or whatever else I decide to run over while mall crawling. I bought the same bar you ordered. Checking out the side shot, the bottom of the lights would be hanging out in the breeze. At $400 per light I don’t want to destroy them with a minor hit.

I'll do some test fitting on Monday. We have LP9 in stock so i'll see how it would have to mount

I'm not personally worried about that. if anyone can think of a solid way to mount 2 under the bar, thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

Got this response from Baja. They are photoshopped! Cool though.

I too am interested in the LP9's and am curious if you were able to mount to stock modular bumper without bull bar? If not on the bumper, what about next to the rear view mirrors? Thanks in advance!

There's just no room on the factory bumper without an additional mount to off-set the light. You COULD probably get away with one on each corner, since the corner bolts sit further out, but not using the factory bolts towards the middle. They sit too far in. Here is what it looks like held up and you can see how even if you drilled some holes in your bumper, there's not a lot of room (don't forget there is a plug that sticks out the back on these LP9 so it can't sit flush)

(I can't center it on the bumper, I have an XL Linkable light bar in the way)
