OK done a 400 mile round trip last week pulling our OBX 2.7. First of all with our 35' gas coach I can tell the Bronco 4dr is much heavier than my 2dr Wrangler was. There are some pretty good down and up grades on the highway between Springfield and Branson Mo.
My brake system is a Brake Buddy Stealth system which requires some brake boost. On the Jeep I installed a vacuum pump that came with the system. With the Bronco I assumed the electric boost would be on all the time. From the feeling I was getting I think the electric boost may be going off when the Bronco does it's sleep thing. Looking for some insight!! Was going to call the Ford Hotline but didn't make it today.

Done a little testing on the Electronic Brake Boost on our 4DR OBX with the 2.7 V6. I have a Brake Buddy Stealth auxiliary brake system which requires some brake boost work. There is a way with this system to test the brake system without being connected to the motorhome. Basically it simulates a break away and applies the brakes. I jacked the left front tire up so I could rotate it my hand. First test was in normal drive mode. Closed the door and pulled the brake away cord. The wheel locked up solid could not move it. Reset the brake away and waited 15 mins, same test same results. Reset and waited 15 mins this time when I pulled the break away cord the aux brakes engaged the same but I could move the tire, some drag but I could move it. Just to check I opened the drivers door and closed it. The wheel locked up solid.
The next test I put the Bronco in Tow Mode, same results. Looks like the Brake Boost stays on about 30 to 45 mins then goes to sleep.
To say the least this is not good. The amount of pressure required for the brakes to work is going to change about 30 mins down the road.
Going to the dealer tomorrow and voice my concern.

I know you're happy with your system, but maybe you'll need one that does not need boost to operate. I use the RVI which actually needs to have the boost (vacuum in my case) bled off before operation. Good luck finding a solution, keep us posted.

So, a question for you guys that have your Broncos. With the engine off, how is the braking? Have you tried it in driveway/parking lot etc to see how effective the pedal is in a dead stick situation?

Ok, just got done. For reference I have the 2.3 with manual. Its a vacuum boosted brake system so when I turned off the bronco I had 3 or 4 vacuum boosted braking pumps then no boost. At 5ish MPH with the vehicle off it took a pretty good push on the brake to get the ride to stop.

I did this several time with different 2.7 V6 units including mine on long slops and the brakes did not bleed off with EBB (Electronic Brake Boost) so I concluded I was good to go.

The problem with the 2.7 V6 with EBB is the brakes will lock up when you try to use them in the first 30 to 45 mins unless we find a way to either keep the EBB on for systems like mine or a way keep the EBB off on systems like yours.

Gotcha. Fortunately I have a 2.3,but haven't tried it yet, so there still may be surprises.
